Has an NFL team ever..

gone undefeated in the division but missed out on the playoffs..

Im just saying.. I know many will say after the debacle against the Saints that we're not good enough bla bla.. hey at the end of the day, im a Dolphin fan and will always be looking towards the positive and the excitement.
We SHOULD beat the Jets. They're missing A LOT of talent. Kris Jenkins gone, Leon Washington gone, Cotchery is a question mark. Edwards should play but hes got the criminal charges against him that'll keep his head out of the game.
Bills are, well the Bills.

I can see us going undefeated against the Bills and Jets.

Obviously the Pats are the team to beat and its tough to really measure this team. They blow out the crappy teams and play close with the good teams. If we can do to the Pats what we did to the Saints, we should be okay. Pats are nowhere near the level of talent that the Saints are, especially on defense.

8-0, or 7-1 in the division is is highly possible. But man I want playoffs!!!!!

We only play 6 divisional games. And sweeping the Pats is a longshot. I am thinking with the second-half meltdown in the back of their minds, sweeping the Jets will be difficult enough.

I can guarantee that this will not happen. Bank on it.:tumbleweed:

I see you guys going 3-3 in the division at best, and 5 wins total at most. You'll be back next year, but this year is not your year.

Why do fans of horrible teams think they should have a say in how our season will end up. The Bills are one the crappiest teams in the league and your shooting us down, wow.

Your prediction sounds like it's a good one....for your own horrible team.

That crappy Bills team has a better record than we do...:boohoo:

Don't worry dude, I knew what you meant, and so did everyone here, but they feel the need to point out your mistake....

guys, we lost to the Saints on Sunday, but seriously, they are arguably the best team in the NFL, and we had them beat, all we had to do was pound the ball, and we didn't, we let the game get away from us, but win or lose we had the best team in the NFL beaten, and we choked, I think the team will see this as a learning experience, no team on our schedule is as good as the saints, if we play the way we played in the first half on sunday I see no reason why we shouldn't go throughout the season unbeaten from this point on, and make some noise in the playoffs, when we can run the ball we are unstoppable on offense, or defense has been consistently shutting down the run, in the first half against the Saints they were able to get pressure on the QB and stop the best passing game in the NFL, the Miami Dolphins are a great team, they just need to play that way consistently, they dug themselves into a DEEP hole, but they have the potential to bounce right back.

I was simply making a comment on the state of your team the way I see it. No need to get upset. The BILLS level of play has only factored in one of your games this year, the other five, their level of play is irrelevant. If you disagree with my assessment of the DOLPHINS then stick to that. If you want to bring up the BILLS, fine, but don't argue apples to tacos.

The DOLPHINS are hurting badly in their secondary. They have a rookie QB who looks pretty decent right now, but so did Sanchez for his first three games. Rookies are going to have bumps in the road and you don't have the offensive weapons to overcome those bumps. That's just my opinion.

The BILLS have looked horrible, but still found a way to win three games. If they beat HOUSTON this week, they'll be 4-4 going into their bye week. That should bode well on trying to get their young OL up to speed for the second half of the season. Of course, we still have Jauron so there's the fly in the soup, but they do have a good core of young players. They found a way to win looking like crap, imagine if they actually learned how to execute more consistently? I don't think they'll make the playoffs, but they are in no way out of it.

Well, this team has been on the wrong side of nifty records all year, so why not?

No, they haven't. At least not since the Dolphins have been a team. In fact, since the recent division setup change in 2002 only a handful of times has a team not won the division going 5-1 within it. And as long as they had a winning record overall they made the playoffs as a wildcard (except 05 Vikings). I think 2 or 3 others went 8-8 or 7-9 and missed the playoffs after only one loss in the division.

Also, it could be said that the teams who DID when the division with another team going 5-1 were all 4-2. This would not be a possible record for ANY team in our division if we ran the table since each of the Bills, Patsies, and Jets have traded wins.

Not that I think it could happen, but still fun to look at stats like these :)
