Any negative criticism that was being said about the Dolphins in the offseason, remember all of the guys we thought were idiots, has been 100% correct so far. Here are some of the things that were being said.

1. The Dolphins are overrated
2. You will see the 2005 Culpepper without Moss
3. The Dolphins O-Line sucks
4. The secondary will be horrible
5. The front seven is too old (debatable, it's tough when your offense constantly goes 3 and out and loses tons of yards to sacks)
6. Malarkey was a mistake
7. They will have no running game without Ricky

Seriously guys, anyone who wasn't Singing Miami's praises was in one or a lot of these catagories and we all thought they were idiots. I'm guilty of debating many of these points (especially the O-LINE and Culpepper) and have been 100% wrong. I've noticed many posters here are very quick to call the media idiots when they are negative towards the fins. I've yet to see a "The Media Was Right" thread so here it is.

The media was praising us during the offseason, man. Some even predicted a Super Bowl run. I'm not giving up yet though, there's still 12 games left...

It sucks when you have to eat crow. Everything seemed like it was going in the right direction and it all came crashing down. Reality has set but hopefully things will turned around.

Right!! My point is just that. It's so frustrating to see so many Pats fans and Bills fans I've debated with, who I secretly feel know nothing about football, be right. I listen to WEEI Boston a lot and let me tell you those guys are dead on balls accurate when it comes to teh Patriots. You have some ball washers but for the most part they are not bad. When it comes to any of the other teams in the NFL they are so uninformed it's scary. Here are some examples.

In 2004, when Ricky retired, we brought in Terry Kirby at like age 37 for a workout. Those guys were talking about the AFC East and said that Terry Kirby was, not will be, Miami's starting tailback. That's sad.

Just about a month ago they were talking about Taylor's divorce with Zach's sister and what it would mean to Zach and Jason in the locker room. They were acting like it would have a big impact. That was like a week after I heard here on Finheaven that there would be no divorce. Stupid stuff but just showing you how uninformed they are about othe NFL teams.

In there AFC East preview they made many of the points above, unfortunately they were right.

Yeah it def sux when Dolphin bashers (like the entire NFL Live crew) are right. I was licking my chops when they were all picking the Pats to win the East over the Phins. Especially when there reasoning was "because they're the Patriots". We may have to wait another year to make Sailisbury look like the dooche he really is.

It sucks because i've herd people say that we were going to be the Buffalo Bills of 2005, expected to do big things and basically lay an egg. I denied it till the death and all of a sudden those same people are pointing in my face now.

Yeah when so called wannabe experts like Salisbury is dishing out crow it is humiliating! One of my neighbors is a transplant upstate New Yorker, Bills fan who debated with me over the summer about our chances this year. The other day we were talking and I had to hear 'how bout Daunte and your Dolphins buddy...' yack yack from him. Brutal I tell ya!

we've all been down this road before, its gonna take longer than we espected DAMN MAN

 God forbid you have hope for your favorite team. Any knowledgeable, true fan realized the weaknesses but hoped we would overcome them. The o-line and secondary were no big shocks. Daunte's slow recovery is no real shock to me considering the man is still recovering from a horrible injury behind a turnstile line. The running game comment is way off and just plain silly. Ronnie gets a handful of carries and is hit in the backfield damn near everytime. He's a beast with what little he is given.

Most of those "numbers" are related to each other, particularly number 3. But it's not even worth arguing. If you expect me to feel bad for hoping the best for my team, well, guess where you can stick that crow? I'm a Dolphins fan, not some blowhard pseudofan.

Yep, agreed.

I may have been too optimistic, and obviously I was wrong about our team. But I'd rather be optimistic and wrong than have no hope for my team, any day. So go ahead and crucify me, I've been wrong before, and I'll probably be wrong again, whoop-de-do.

I said alot of those things and argued w/ folks almost all offseason BUT the season is still somewhat young, there is still time to turn it around so it's way too early to give up(I'm not saying you are) or to say someone was right or wrong during the offseason.
