The Wildcat is all the rage in the NFL this year, all because of the Miami Dolphins.

At least the Raiders, Bills, Chargers, Chiefs and Bears have followed suit and snapped directly to a skill position player.

Tim Tebow gives the team a legitimate Wildcat option on every down. Especially legitimate is the threat of the Wild-Tebow whenever there are less than 5 yards to go.

So considering this new trend, is it possible that Tebow gets more consideration for the top spot because he allows for the most subtle Wildcat formation in the league?

Easy to trick opponents when you run the Wildcat without ever changing your personnel.

He'd be a wasted pick. I just don't see him translating well to the NFL. Reminds me of Alex Smith.

I don't necessarily think he'll be too effective a passer in the NFL. I think he'd run an offense with a Wildcat threat well, but I don't want him.

I just wonder if this new rage will cause more teams to consider him in the top 10, or #1 overall, because of Dan Henning's offense this season.

Similar to Devin Hester making Ted Ginn the 9th overall pick.

The Chargers have done it to LT a couple of times also.

I'm curious to see where he is picked. I really don't see many teams giving up a 4th or better for him. On the other hand he is a passionate player who knows how to win. I am sure a GM could find a roster spot for him but as a finfan I wouldn't want to give more than a 6th for him. If he was around then I would throw a 7th or even a 6th for him just for the possiblities. Interesting though from his point of view. The WC couldn't have hit the NFL at a better time for him. Interesting. Not a 1st rounder IMO but interesting.

I see not one similarity to alex smith. All you are trying to say is that your opinion is he will be a bust but dont compare him to a player who he isnt comparable to. They have different styles and at least Tebow is doing it in the best conference in college not at UTAH

even more teams have done it: patriots (k faulk), jags (forgot who), eagles (westbrook), bucs (dunn)

very intersting take. and I would have to agree with you, I think that the NFL see's a bit of relevance for Tebow translating into the NFL. Prior to this year, many would argue that Tebow, although a fabulous college QB, would be an average at best NFL QB. However now that many have seen that strong rushing attack behind center can be an effective offensive tool, I think many teams will rate him higher.

Good point about hester and ginn, similarly that NFL teams (Cam and Randy) realized the relavence and value of an electric returner.

if you say tebow a overall 1st pick. then pat white is a top 10 pick in the first round qb, where is a better player at wr

Are you guys Gator fans? If so, you should know that no way Tebow leaves school early. He will stay for his senior year.

Tebow is a better passer than most give him credit for but he is by no means a first round pick in this class. Probably 5 or 6 QB's will go ahead of him depending on who comes out early (including Tebow).

I'd been advocating this for a long time now.

Tebow isn't like most running QBs. He's not a speed WR or a quick RB turned QB or a fast basketball player trying to make it as a pocket QB like most of the previous running QBs (i.e. Vick and Young). He's more like a half-back or a power running back turned QB.

He's not going to try to beat the the linebackers running side to side like the current runners. He is an extremely accurate and smart passer. He has adequate arm strength. And, if he runs, he has a strong 245lbs muscular frame that moves for short yardage like a bus.

I think he'd be a great QB in the NFL..... but if someone can teach the kid to block and run... I think he'd be a great reason to bring back an active fullback.

I seriously doubt a formation we run about 5% of the time will dictate our draft. It's hardly a trend.

If Tebow cleans up his mechanics, I think he can be a legitimate NFL QB. His throws remind me a lot of Vince Young's, but fortunately for Tebow his balls are as "loopy" and have a bit more zip on them. I think he has all the other skillsets to be an NFL QB though. Great leader, tough as hell, winner, all that other intangible nonsense, whatever.
