Defense ways playing great. Pulled it out when it mattered.
I love winning on a safety than kicking a FG. I hope they are pumped and ready to make a run.
The Coaches need to learn how to sub in fresher players though because for about 8 minutes there the D could not have stopped Richard Simmons from scoring a TD. Either that or they need better conditioning...
I agree though...they came through in the end
Lot of missed tackles, a few awful plays stand out to me, but the fact is that when you get four turnovers and a walk-off safety, and you only give up a net of 11 points, your performance should rightfully be considered great defense.
Last night was good and bad fr the defense. Yes they did come up with thos turnovers and the safey. At the same time they couldn't get off the field in the 3rd quater giving up big play after big play. The only reason we won the game was the turnovers so I give them credit for that.
The defense played great. The pick 6 hurt them because they ended up on the field for the entire quarter, but up until that point they were playing extremely well. The Bengals have some playmakers and they are tough to shut down. The defense made the plays when it mattered and they played a great game. The D also almost outscored the offense.
Jeeeeeezus. Some people are hard to please. The defense flat-out balled. If not for AJ Green (you remember him, right?) and a thankfully limited number of Gio Bernard snaps, we would have virtually shut them down. We made Dalton look like a 50 QBR player, not a 112 or whatever it is lately. We shut down Green-Ellis and we forced a serious number of 3-and-outs. Not to mention the turnovers and the game-winning safety.
That was a terrific defensive performance. Any other opinion is frankly ignoring what stares you in the face.
The D went to work! They had that rough stretch when they were on the field for about a month, but they hung in there, got their second wind, and sealed the game with the safety!
