… I find that I almost have to pinch myself… I feel like I'm dreaming… and almost can't believe that…

1) We have a new GM who isn't a total douche bag.
2) We have a new OC who isn't a complete f***ing idiot.

Granted… it's still early… but like a lot of other fans… I was STARVING for some change at those two positions.

Personally, I think we were a playoff team LAST YEAR had we A) made the Albert trade happen… B) drafted an offensive lineman with one of our first two picks… and C) had an OC who wasn't a complete f***ing idiot.

Here's to hoping 2014 is a better year!

Go 'Phins!

It isn't a knock on Hickey but his mannerisms reminds me of Michael J. Fox. On the topic at hand, Hickey needs to draft well for Miami this year. No more ****ing around.

As a side note… all of the failures of 2013 (looking back through the proverbial rear-view mirror)… all the short-comings of last year, in my opinion, were WORTH IT… if the end result was that A) we $h*t-canned Ireland's obnoxious ass and B) got ourselves an OC who… say it with me now… wasn't a complete f***ing idiot.

Had we made the playoffs we might still have those two deadweights on this team.

Good luck to them both… but good riddance, just the same.

Especially, Ireland, who aside from being incompetent… was clearly an a$$h*le.

Now let us not abandon the run in the first quarter, play it smart with our money, draft actual football players (not ones who will be gone in a few years or ride the bench) and win some games.

If he's gone 1 whole month without saying something idiotic, I'd say that's a good start.

Excited to see how he drafts and handles FA. I think he'll help Philbin a lot with picking the right guys.

He's sounds competent. It's been so long I'm not sure how to react to that.

Hickey was always one of my least favorite of the options. However, even if it's rationalization, he does seem pretty sharp (although there's no guarantee that it's applied) . Perhaps being under-valued while cast in others' shadows this long has created a determined chip on his shoulder that will translate into doing a commendable GM job for us. At least to keep the faith, one can hope so :idk:

No pitchforks yet...I'll let you know...

I have mine sitting by the door ready to go. Seems a nice guy but I want a Tom Gamble type gm

One criticism of ireland I never got was the "hes not a nice guy" thing. NE is run by a dick.... hows that working out?

How he handles grimms and solia and a few other guys will say a lot about him and his vision for this team. The fans will turn on him quick if let grimms and solia walk. Also what he does with martin will tell a lot I think. Hope we have the right guy for the job

Here's what his problem might be. He doen't have the "money and picks" Ireland had to play with last year which he totaly misused. Ireland was horrible at drafting. Now this guy might do better but we only have 6 picks. I still like the way JJ used to do it. The more picks you could acumulate the better. If you have 10 picks and it on half of them, you'd have 5 good players. When you oly have 6, if you hit on half your picks then you get 3 good players. Of course for a moron like Ireland having many picks never amounted to anything. Last year we started with what, 5 picks in the first 3 rounds? We ended up with a project who has not real position on a 4-3 defense, an injured corner plus an OT who couldn't block anybody. Now we're going to be asking Hickey to do more with less picks.

In free agency we had tons of money so we ot 2 LB's that couldn't tackle and a WR with a cap tab of 17mill this season. He's getting paid as he was Rice and Moss all into one. Now we're asking Hickey to fill every hole with half the money and if he can't do it, everyone will turn on him.

Ozzy rules!!
