Have you ever seen a draft class bust so quickly?

Just look at the Miami Dolphins' draft from last year:

EDDIE MOORE -- Spent last year on injured reserve. Couldn't break the lineup this year. Already talk in the locker room is that he is a bust.

WADE SMITH -- Completely inept. About to be demoted. Obtained with the draft pick New England used to get Corey Dillon.

TAYLOR WHITLEY -- Only made the roster last year because of his first-day draft status. Third on the depth chart at RG behind a rookie free agent from the same college. About to be demoted.

DONALD LEE -- Showed potential last year but in Wannstedt's doghouse because of frequent stupid penalties.

J.R. TOLVER -- Spent last year on practice squad. Released at the end of 2004 training camp.

TIM PROVOST -- Released during 2003 training camp.

YEREMIAH BELL -- Spent last year on injured reserve. Only playing this year on special teams.

DAVERN WILLIAMS -- Released during 2003 training camp.

Sure looks like a F class to me.
 
I would hold on there......Yeremiah Bell just might be a pro bowler in waiting......we'll see when he gets the start next season........

Jimmy Johnson once said that you can bust a whole draft if you catch one pro bowler....We'll see.
 
Bell still has a lot of promise and could be starting as soon as next year. He is a very fast and talented player. Other then him, I am dissapointed with the rest(I hope Moore can turn it around and eventually start, and Lee still has potential but just needs to stop with all the penalties)
 
I think the jury should still be out on Eddie Moore. Is not like he was going to crack the starting lineup with Seau and Zach as well as Greenwood, who showed a lot of improvement last year. This is essentially Moore's rookie season as he was hurt in the 1st preseason game last year.

Bell shows promise and if Lee can correct the penalties, he has certainly proved in other areas he was worth a 5th round pick. I would agree that W. Smith and Whitley do not show a whole lot of promise - is surprising how Smith has apparently regressed from last season.
 
bell just needs one chance. sammy knight would have to screw up it seems.

I'm glad we got Eddie Moore instead of Anquan Boldin. Aren't you?

1300 yards receiving 8TD <<<<<<<<<<<<< Not playing at all
 
How about comparing drafts with a few other teams? I don't think every team gets an A every year. Sometimes players don't work out. It happens. Moore is a bust, we never should have drafted a 'backup' in the 2nd round. Thank Dave for most of those picks.
 
I heard somewhere that Wanny is simply keeping Moore as his UNPRECEDENTED 8th LB to save some PR humiliation. I wish I could remember where I saw/read/heard this so I can provide a link. Regardless, I feel it is probably true.

I don't think that's true. Moore came off the bench in the Cincy game to replace Zach when he went out for a few plays. I've also heard that Moore would be the first one in if any of the LBs go down -- at least in the Cincy game, that held true. By the way, Moore made a few plays while he was in there, if I recall correctly.
 
dolfan4good, I heard that too, but it is BS. The 7th & 8th backers are Brendon Ayanbadejo, and Tony Bua. Pope might even be behind Moore. That is just more negative smack. Absolutely not true.
 
And compare that with Spielman's draft this year. Pope is better than Moore, Hadnot is better than Whitley, Poole is better than ANYbody from last year, and Bua is looking like at least a special teams ace if nothing else. And don't forget -- we traded a #2 to be able to get Smith in the 3rd. That's looking like a total mess right now.

Where did you hear it? It's driving me nuts that I can't remember!
 
bell is a great player - if i'm not mistaken, he led the team in tackles in the preseason. (or was near the top). Moore, Bua, and Pope are all great players on a team already flooded with probowl linebackers. Maybe we could trade Seau for a decent QB?
 
DW really stunted Wade Smith's growth by throwing him in to the starting lineup last season...LOL IN GAME ONE! :shakeno: It was due to the fact that the FO did not address the OL adequately and assuming injury prone Mark Dixon would be OK.
IMO, W.Smith really lost alot of confidence due to the fact that Wanny threw him to the wolves last year. Many head coaches said that he really impressed at the combines with his athleticism. He may come around eventually, but it will be at least 1-2 seasons of riding the bench...if ever now.:(
