Just our luck I guess. But you are right. No Manning sitting there. Where's a franchise player when you need it?

LOL!

His name is Chris Long and he is a stud.

yeah no clear cut to the public, but the last time I checked, the public doesnt know squat.

I think Long and Long are sure things. C Long cus of his attitude and skill and all the intangibles, and J Long becuase he is just a big burly stud who can fill the LT spot for 10 years.

I have to agree.

I think overall Chris Long has the fewest number of weaknesses...and with the #1 pick I think he is the guy unless you trade out. This draft has alot of good prospects for offensive tackle in later rounds....why take Jake Long first overall?

True, but I`d rather hope there are no clear cut busts...Imagine if this were to be the draft were Robert Gallery, Carr, Leaf, Harrington, or any of those "cant miss" picks, could be had...

People ask why take jake long with the #1. Does anyone here on this board remember the last good 1st round pick we had. The last two sure stop no nonsense 1st round picks we have had were Kieth Simms, and Richmond webb (in their respective years). How long did those to anchor our line. A stud tackle is a huge part of the game and if i had the choice I pick jake and grab Max starks to anchor the line.

oh, i have noticed.

but so much of that is percieved.

lets face it, in the ronnie brown draft, would you have cried now if
saban would have drafted shawn merriman? would you say at this
point that he was not worthy of that spot now?

no one did then. because it is ALL percieved! there are pro bowlers and
BIG TIME players in every draft.

think of this..... lets say bill parcells sends the card up and it is CB DOMINIQUE
RODGERS CROMARTIE. most would freak out and disown the team.

well, what if cramartie starts right away, has 112 tackles and 10 int's?

the money is causing the perception of the "bad at the top" thing. this draft
is LOADED and there are more players than the longs or dorsey that deserve
to be the first pic in this draft.

THE DOLPHIN CURSE CONTINUES! in more ways than the top pic thing. RONNIE
BROWN did NOTHING for over 2 years and was an ABSOLUTE bust for the
money he got and the slot he was taken. so i am thinking, man, if we are
as bad as we appear were going to be, we could FINALLY have a shot at a
real blue chip back in DARREN MCFADDEN!

but them it happened. the curse raised its ugly head and ronnie has 5 lights
out games. the fans are RABBID all screaming "see!! he has FINALLY showing
what he is"....... and i am thinking great! he is going to show enough so we
wont take mcfadden and then next year he will revert back to the old ronnie.

then he gets hurt and the seed is planted. he left everyone wanting more and
enough doubt to probably pass on the great mcfadden.

we will, and ronnie will come back and NEVER show what he did in those 5 games
again. the curse continues.......and the jets will be ramming him down our throats
for YEARS and YEARS!!

BUT, we can break that curse. we can "change seats" at the card table. all we
have to do is send up that card tht reads DARREN MCFADDEN and pull a big spoke
out of the wheel that is the dolphins curse. go AGAINST what the curse is leading
us into and put the whole thing out of wack, FOREVER!!

oh, and would BRAYLON EDWARDS have been a good pic for the dolphins that "ronnie"
year? i guess it IS ok to take a wr in the first round after all huh?

perception...........

I have to agree.
me too, I agree, but what I mean is that there is no clear cut guy that teams are banging down the door to trade up for; like a Peyton Manning style...I mean the year we took Ronnie Brown we could have went many different ways b/c again, no clear cut guy jumping out; hence Alex Smith and the 49er's...now we have the #1, and there just isn't that guy that everyone is drooling over...I hope that if we don't trade down we take either Long; preferably Chris Long...maybe then Fox Sports won't always talk smack about the fins :) :):beer1:

Great point, but Jake Long can't be compared to Richmond Webb, yet...it all depends on heart; Jake obviously has the skill and size, but lets see where his heart is...Robert Gallery was a can't miss...now he's a can't play...

ya i agree with you. i think chris long is the real deal
