Hawk might be the best LB to come out since Ray Lewis!

He's by far the best LB in college check this out!
Tackles TFL Sacks
Hawk 97 11 1/2 6 1/2

No one else really close..

I know Zach is still playing well but this kidf is the real deal and Saban loves big strong fast guys..and this man is the prototype!

There is no doubt in my mind that Hawk will be a great player, but we got to draft a young QB or CB in the first round. LB is not a position that we are worried about.

im sure he will be long gone by the time we pick.....and if we do trade up it will be for lienart....but if he somehow fell when we picked id love to get him every time i watch a game he seems like he is in almost every play almost zach like.

I totally disagree.

If we can't get Leinart then I highly doubt we take a Q.B. in the first.

We have other needs besides Q.B. Reaching for one that is not worthy of being a first round pick just because we need one is how franchises get in trouble.

We'll go best player available...any position (accept running back and tight end).

If there isn't a QB worth the pick that we will end up with, then CB or T are other options that I would perfer to draft in the 1st round. The only positions that I think that we will consider with our 1st pick will be....

QB
T
DT
CB
S

Let's try to stay on topic here people...

So can anybody post his profile? Can he be moved outside or does he only have the tools to be a Inside backer?

i agree those are our biggest needs ,but there is a point to where if a talent is still avaliable at your pick you cant pass to grab a less talented player just cause you have other needs....i think we will be picking in the 10-18 range and if hawk was still avaliable then (unless dbrick or leinart were there) id take him.

Hawk is good, but I would like to pick up Paul Posluszny if he leaves for the NFL.

Maybe it is just my inner-homer speaking.

10-18, I don't see Hawk being there. He's a top 10 pick easily. In that range Saban could go LSU with Claude Wroten or Laron Landry.

Personally, I wouldn't mind having Santonio Holmes.

Even within the positon of linebacker, ILB isnt a priority, and especially not so much we'd take one in the first round. If we pick up another linebacker, it will be a 6'3" 240+ pound strongside linebacker, someone who can play mostly up near the line in the 4-3 shifted fronts and the 3-4, who can replace Seau.

hawk isnt going to be there i was just sayin that if he fell even though we have other needs you cant pass up on that kind of talent.....and laron landry would be a great pick is he a SR?

Player Profile

A.J. Hawk

clear.gif

School: Ohio State Position: Outside Linebacker Class: 2006 Height: 6'2" Weight: 238lbs Birthday: 40 Time: 4.46 (estimated)
Positives

- Simply all over the field on defense. Hawk just flies to the football, probably better than any other player in the country, evidenced by his 141 tackles during his junior season; that’s right, 141. Hawk’s on field speed was merely reaffirmed by his 4.4 40 yard dash that he ran at the ’05 Ohio St. pro day, stealing the show from all the outgoing seniors on hand. He can cover and play the run with the best of them.

Weaknesses

- If there is such a thing, Hawk may be too intense, and too fast for his own good on occasion. He sometimes takes himself out of plays because of overpursuit, but it really doesn’t come back to hurt the team that much thanks to the rest of the talented OSU LBs.

Overall Analysis

- A.J. is the best of the best at the Linebacker position in the 2006 draft, and may actually be the best overall prospect. The fact that he’s the leader of what may be the best linebacking corps in the nation certainly doesn’t hurt his chances of both major awards and a very high draft selection, but also nearly guarantees another huge season in ‘05.

if we get Carr or Rivers and we don't have to give away our 2006 first, then i definetly woudn't mind taking him. he's a monster
