HBO’s RealSports looks at fan behavior at Land Shark Stadium

by Post Staff A segment on this month’s installment of the HBO’s RealSports program that began running this week features both the stadiums from Miami and Buffalo prominently.
Entitled “Drinking Games,” it zeroes in on the NFL’s attempts to curb the lewd and drunken behavior that is the product of hours of pregame tailgating at every one of the league’s 32 stadiums.

Much of the footage, including that shot in Buffalo, is years old. But some newer footage features activities in and around Land Shark Stadium, which of course is named after an Anheuser-Busch beer.

wat happens in philly that doesnt happen in miami?

I've seen a little kid, probably no older then 5 or 6 get Beer poured over her head because she was wearing a Dolphins jersey.

They're just classless. Most passionate fans in the league but they're brutal.

The fans of Philly, are ridiculous. Actually "The Daily Show" had a segment about the Eagles and Giants fans and which team has the biggest douchebags as fans. Pretty funny stuff

Interesting they wouldn't look at Philly. That place is absolutely brutal.

This was part of a story they aired a couple of years ago and the piece they did at joe Robbie was focusing on what teams are doing to curb this type of behavior and they showed the new text messgaing system they have there to report bad behavior.

That's not passion, it's insanity.

Ah. That makes sense then.

That's why they segregate fans everywhere else in the world.

lol na never been to philly and will never, i hear bad stuff bout that place. real bad.

I don't know if you are young or not, but, they are imfamous for various things like throwing batteries at Santa (A pre game thing I think) and there is actually a jail in the stadium.

I've been to Philly a number of times. While there is lots to like about the place, it's perhaps the most non tolerant, ignorant, backwards place on the face of the planet.

damn ive been to philly a few times and it wasnt so bad but i wasnt at a eagles game in dolphins gear either but i did wanna plan a trip to see the dolphins in philly whenver it happens but this makes me almost not wanna

I would not go to a Dolphins game in Philly or Oakland. I am a former Personal protecction specialist, and, soldier. I'm a fairly large individual and of Russian/German heritage, so I'm not a wilting daisy. It's just that I know I'm going to wind up getting in trouble if I wind up in a stadium full of drunken idiots that don't wear the same colors as me in some cases.

I found the fans in NE to be loutish, but good natured in general when they see that you are just there to cheer your team. You're going to get some guff, but, that's to be expected, IMO. If you take it well and laugh it off, you'll be ok. Heck, I was invited to tailgate with some Pats fans after a game I went to in the early 90's. I found them to be passionate, but good fans.

I went to a game in Indy, and found them all to be very freindly. I was actually able to discuss the game with them and we both just watched our tounges. It was a great experience.

I would never watch a game in Philly unless I wanted a fight.

My friend warned me not to wear my Dolphins gear to the game v.s Philly two seasons ago. It was hard not to but I didn't. That's when I saw the little girl get beer dumped on her.

That kind of **** pisses you off but there's nothing you can really do. You don't want to get kicked out because tickets are ridiculous but it's so hard to hold back.

When Ted Ginn took one to the house I think they all knew I was a Dolphins fan :)

Philly fan or Miami fan, if I had witnessed that some mother****er would have had his head busted.

I wouldn't have cared about the recourse. That is just a stupid ******* that no fan base needs.
