The talk of Steve Ross going after Harbaugh is already running. I like Harbaugh, I believe he built a tough team that is a half step away from the title.

In your opinion, what would Philbin have to do to convince you that Harbaugh is not needed here. I believe, for me to want to keep Joe, he would have to get to the AFC Championship game at least. Of course, his actions over the course of the season would have bearing as well. But the end result is the AFCC game. That way I know he has made strides in his coaching, and hopefully he builds on it. That's the only way I don't want Harbaugh. Thoughts on the issue?

if we are a playoff team next year the staff is going nowhere regardless of who is or isnt available - thats a fact not my opinion

I like Harbaugh a lot (even though he comes off as a whiner during the games). If we truly had a chance to get him, I'd do it regardless of how Philbin does this year (short of a SB trip). But I seriously doubt Harbaugh is ever going to want any part of this current organization. He'd want nearly all the FO gone and final say over many of the decisions. No way Ross would ever give one person that much authority. He likes many hands in the pot and Harbaugh won't stand for it, so it's all press "assumption" at this point.

Likewise, if this team wins 4-5 games Joe has to go...that is my opinion and not fact...because Steve Ross does some odd, odd things as owner.

Gus Malzahn would be my answer. Innovative and has won where ever he has been.
