Do we want the next hot ticket, young gun like Gase was or do we want a re-tread like Marvin Lewis, Jeff Fisher, Rex Ryan type of coach???? Lincoln Riley would be a hot commodity but what would make him desire the Dolphins' job anyway with so many other more desirable openings?? All thought out opinions sought...……….

Instead of retread, I would describe as experienced head coach.
Hiring a HC that has no experience is a huge gamble.
Go for the best "retread" possible.

Please let it be Bill Cowher. Then even if we don't win at least we'll physically beat the living hell out of the other guys.

Kris Richard. high energy and his players love him. we need a defensive minded guy instead of these soft o guys.

the only o guy I want is dan campbell. atleast he will have the guys up and physical

"Chris Grier making all football decisions " .......Ross statement at PC

Personally don't want a Re-treat or an Up and Comer...

Ideally would like a proven experienced head coach..And not in the over the hill variety...Cowher, Bellick variety....

Interesting combo could be Bruce Arians HC, and Todd Bowles DC.... They have also worked together in the past.....just a thought ..quality and experience from the start...

Considering Vance, gase, and the Zona head coach got the boot give me a vet just to make it through next season

Ive been on the Mike Mccarthy band wagon since he was fired, like to talk with Bruce Aryans since he is now "listening to offers"

Todd Bowles intrigues me, he is familiar with here and i think he got a raw deal, a year after going to the playoffs the owner and GM decided to have a fire sale and strip him of all talent, in 2017 they were said to be lucky to win 2 games and would be competing with the browns for the number 1 pick. They played very hard all year for him with no talent and won 5 games, this year there were in year 2 of the rebuild with a rookie QB and lost a handful of one score games. I think he commands respect and at least should be considered as the rooney rule candidate.

I hate Rex Ryan, but love the fire his teams always play with. I would be actually excited for him... At least it would be interesting to see.

I don't mean to disrespect veteran coaches by calling them re-treads however I can only see one outcome with the hiring of some of these veterans like Rex, it usually ends up badly in a few years...……..And we begin from square one all over again.

Miami can't go the up and coming route again IMO. Get an experienced coach, set the philosophy, get the team moving in the right direction.

I'd look at guys like Mike Shanahan, Mike Martz , Jim Harbaugh etc.

I like Boles, but he needs a little more Dan Campbell in him and DC needs a little more Todd Bowles in him...LOL

I don't have an answer or many names to throw out there. I'll take Bowles as a coordinator, but he, like Gase, doesn't have the fire to be a head coach. I want a coach that talks to his players on the sideline, and gets in their faces when necessary. Other than Tannehill, I can't remember a time this season when Gase had any interaction with anyone on the sideline. Bowles is similar. I loved seeing John Harbaugh get pissed at a penalty yesterday. We need someone with fire, who watches the whole game and shows emotion. If that means Rizzi, promote him. Campbell wouldn't be bad. I loved him when he was here, and so did the players. I've always hated Rex Ryan and have never been a huge fan of Jim Harbaugh, but I would take either of them right now. Someone has to right this ship, and it needs to be someone who can take charge of a locker room.

It totally sounds like Ross/Grier want to fully rebuild the team, as we should have done long ago.

I think they're going young again. And if they do, Lincoln Riley better get an interview.

One of the Harbaughs or Dan Campbell. I’m sick of those “guru” “genius” types. Gimme smash mouth.

This could happen, I mean he was in Hard Rock for the Orange Bowl. I’m sure they spoke to each other.
