There have been a lot of posts about our former coach lately - the man who set back our franchise a few years with his "brilliant" talent evaluation skills. While I, too, have often bemoaned the shortcommings of this coach and his unfortunate impact on the '05 team's stock of talent, I now agree with others that it is time to move on and enjoy the Saban regime.

As a result, I propose that we no longer mention our former coach's name on this board. From now one, let's borrow from Harry Potter and refer to him as "He who sha'll not be named :fire: "

Who's with me?

Harry Potter references shouldn't be used....this is a football website right???

I don't think What'shisname fans are going to be pleased with this.

Yeah, but it applies if you think about it. They both are out to ruin all that's good! In this case, all that's good with the Miami Dolphins!

i agree, like when he got chambers, mcmichael, booker, boston, seau, welker, and more?

no way that guy still has FANS.

Pitt fans have high hopes for him this year. Unfortunately Im a fan of them as well :(
Heck, Im just glad he's not with the dolphins. Maybe he will be OK in college

And Moore, Fletcher, Feidler, Feeley (Ok, maybe jury is still out), McKinney ...

Plus, think of the context. We're stacked at CB, he picks Fletcher. We need a WR desperately to take the pressure off Chambers, and are OK at LB - we overlook Bolden and pick Moore (who was a reach, bigtime!) ...

Hey, no one is wrong all the time, but you've got to be kidding saying this guy was a good evaluator of talent!

Ha! I beg to disagree. He's a finfan that lives in buffalo and thinks he's in the same league as Marv. Says he sucked as a GM but a good coach and he will defend it too if you ask him.

I usually just refer to him as Pornstache.....couldn't stand the way he always looked confused on the sideline rubbing his moustache....I feel for you Pitt Panther fans. :D

I have no problem with the job he did as coach. His problem was as a GM. I didn't like the idea of one person with both jobs with Shula, JJ, or Wanny. That is my biggest concern with the new regime. I believe coaches should coach.

Shula remained a great coach even when the talent he acquired was not keeping pace. JJ brought in some good talent on defense, but his performance as HC was average (He wasted the end of Marino's career). Wanny did a good job as COACH in his first 4 years. 41 wins with average talent is a good job.

I used to think so too about "He-who-shall-not-be-named" (you didn't follow the rules  ), but the reality is he never could win the big games! That is what held us back, especially in '00 and '01 when we had a real shot. Then, at the end of '02, he couldn't pull out just one win from the last two games. Granted, it's not all his fault, but he was the guy in charge!
