Opinions are like your 3rd puckered brown-eye everybody has got one. All of the NFL punditry are looking at this Dolphin team and seeing another disaster for 2007. I have heard declarations of 3-13 and 6-10. Nobody really has them as more than a dark horse for a playoff spot. Horsefeathers and poppy-****, maybe balderdash too. Lets do the math shall we. The Dolphins Offense sucked the hind tit last year. Two hundred sixty points total and that includes whatever TDs the Defense produced. Truly pathetic numbers and the reason Cam was hired. Cams Offense in San Diego last year 492 points. Maybe he won't put the same scoring numbers up with the present cast of characters but I definitely see an improvement on the horizon. They have a real NFL QB who's last three full-seasons all included passing for more than 4K yards. They have added playmakers to the offense with Ginn and Booker. We will be seeing a lot fewer three and outs this year guaranteed. Now Cameron might not be able to squeeze 492 points out of this bunch but they will be a scoring machine compared with last year's team. The offense will be on the field a lot more and the defense a lot less. All things considered the Defense only gave up a hair over 17 points a game last year. Great defense but not when your offense can only hang 16.2 average on the opponent any given Sunday. That will get you 6-10 if you are lucky.

So you are reading it here first: the defense will allow no more than 14 points a game average this year, the offense will be hanging an average of 24+ on the oposition. Do the math. This team will be 13-3 when the dust settles this year. They will win the AFC East. I realize it is all conjecture at this point. That said it is as valid as anyone elses. So, any of you nitwits disagree? Looking forward to a great year. Actually, they should go 16-0 but I am allowing for three games of WTF? Go Phish.

I can't say with any certainty that we will be seeing a lot fewer 3-and-outs. While Green makes me feel warm and cozy about that, the offensive line is still questionable. So, I can't say for sure. I do think that we have a better opportunity when it comes to field position because of the speed that we've added to the return game and offense with Booker and Ginn.

Funny post, regardless...

Excellent post...I'm actually thinking more like 10 games this year, but I've stated since our draft, if we remain healthy, we'll be the biggest surprise this year.

I cannot predict what our record will be next year. We have to many question marks and unfortunately they start with the offensive line. This unit has to play well for Green to succeed. Green is no Mike Vick so our OL and he and our WR's must gel quickly.

We could go anywhere from 6-10 to 11-5. It all depends on how the other teams in our division play. The last couple of seasons the Jets seem to do well one season and fall back the next which could help us. The Bills have lost some of their defensive players but there offense is getting better, they could be tough to beat. The Pats are probably going to win the division but hopefully we split with them.

7-9 if we're lucky. We all get caught in the off-season hype, and I hope the OP is right with his prediction, but year after year this team continues to disappoint and I just don't see a magic turnaround this year. Again, I hope I am COMPLETELY wrong (as I do have season tix and hate seeing them lose).

I agree with the offensive line issue, but more to the point of the running game improvement. This offense is predicated on getting rid of the ball quickly. If we do that 95% of the time, the line only needs to improve slightly over last year. When Daunte got his 21 sacks last year, it was partly due to the fact he held the ball too damn long, couldn't find a receiver, or couldn't make a decision. Just getting rid of the ball quickly will make the line look a lot better.

We'll see how the offensive line plays. If they're good, then so go the Dolphins.

Absolutely, that and the secondary.

We will sink or swim with the success levels of those 2 units IMO.
The rest of the team is pretty solid IMO barring unforseen health issues.

We will not know until game 4. Lots of new espcially on the offensive side of the ball so I think it will take till mid season to mesh. Question will the fans and media be patient enough to let that happen or nail the Dolphins brass. I think it is the latter but hope it is the first. Secondary is still weak and I hear of little improvement so far. I also worry about what will happen when Ronnie goes down I do not see a replacement so far. He has missed games his first 2 years so you have to figure. (Booker is not a smash mouth back every down back either!} OL all new positions and a coach sharing off coordinator postions also have to make you worry. WR's, LB's, QBs sound better this year than last. DT, DE, TE will have to depend on rookie depth this year may be a good or bad thing but I expect a wash. FB and K about the same as last year but the rookie punter will probably have some ups and downs.
