Hey guys... I'm not 100% sure that this should be in the main forum, so I apologize if it isn't. Anyways... to the point, so I am a 4th year graphic design student and as a project for one of my classes I chose to rebrand the Dolphins. I had no trouble coming up with a look and feel that I wanted for the design work that I am doing, but my professor wants more than just that. He wants more of a solid concept to my campaign... like a slogan, and something else I can focus my designs around. I kind of compare it to the sort of rebranding Miami did this year with the Code thing they have had on their site. The trouble is, I am terrible at coming up with ideas like this and I figured maybe some people on here might have some bright ideas. I'm trying to come up with something that's clever but not cheesy, and would likely relate to the new management and the rebirth of the dolphins... any one got any ideas?

Slogan

Rebirth of a Dynasty
Fear the Fins
Continue the Legacy

Humor:
Dolphins with a porpoise (purpose)
Mammals on a Mission

just a couple real quick to get you started

I came up with the slogan "Move the hyphen" or "move the dash/slash" because they are the only team in NFL history to go from 1-15 to 11-5 thus moving the hyphen (which is mathematically impossible to do any other way) so that's very specific to the team.

Additionally:

Worst to first, return to perfection, the NY exchange (acquiring Pennington, beating out the Jets), things of that nature would all make sense to bring up (though I don't know what catchy wording you would use).

If I think of anything else I'll let you know. I've also seen a lot of slogans that involve the drafting of Jake Long ex"we've come a LONG way" etc. but since he is 100% responsible for our turnaround I wouldn't base a marketing campaign off that.

hey thanks guys, theres deffinitely some stuff here i can probably work with. i thought of some of these already too :) just wanna weigh all my options and the help is deffinitely appreciated.

I agree with Adam. Roll with the worst to first, move the hyphen angle. It has more meaning than some silly slogan.

It works because it is true.

The fins went from rebuilding to east champs under bill in one year.

update

Thougt of a design last night in bed ( i'm so lonely-lol)

POWER,PASSION,PRIDE, PERFECTION, a salute to the 72 team ( HISTORY), I thought they would look nice in some type of circle with the Dolphins somehow involved in the logo.

Yeah, that's a nice catch phrase - but without graphics it might be a bit obscure. Beyond that, the hyphen's already moved...so it does not really address the optimistic promise of the 09 season.

Maybe something like: "09: Yet another one for the record books"..
or possibly "09: Continuing the amazing record-breaking Dolphins makeover"
with a slightly faded pic of our existing mammal logo followed by a modified vivid one with him snarling menacingly maybe with a mouth dripping some blood drops.

Or maybe not

I kind of lean toward:

"We embarrassed and eliminated the Jets"

That says everything about the season.

LOL!

Kinda like a movie sequel thing going on:

"Your 2009 Miami Dolphins: Bigger, Faster, Stronger."

How about what they have already put out there:

Why not us?
Why not now?
