This Sunday is her birthday and she is getting very angry by the idea of me leaving her for 3 hours to watch the football game...

Now... since I'm GOING to watch the game... Any ideas/suggestions of something i can do that is really nice so i won't be completely in the dog house...

buy her a flight to New York, tell her youl take her to Tiffany's if the fins win.... oh and she will want a ticket to the Game then too! She would be loud as hell for the fins to win as well lol ;0)

take her to the sports bar and get her liquored up while you watch the dolphins win the east...

Fortunately my wife just tunes me out. Unless you have a bottle of chloroform handy, I suggest you make your expensive dinner reservations now. You can't miss this game. She must somehow understand the anguish we Phin fans have been dealing with since the departure of Marino. If you are like myself as well you must hate the JESTS more than any other franchise in the NFL so what other excuses do you really need? Good luck and Go Phins!

I feel you man.

I'm flying out to Cuba next week and will have to miss the game. Don't get me wrong, i really can't complain considering i'll be on a beach downing beers like there is no tomorrow, but i just wish i could catch the game!!

How about this.

IM only 19 so im obviously not experienced with marriage but i know girls/women.

Surprise her by taking her out to eat Saturday Night and doing something she would really enjoy. Sunday because the game is at 4. Do something during the day that she would enjoy. Go for a hike or walk or w/e. JUst make her feel like you really caree about her but explain that the Dolphins game is also important to you not in the same way as her but its something you really enjoy doing.

Just dont do what I did in 05 and tell my girlfriend i was too sick to go out but i actually just stayed home and watched the fins jets game. Then she called my house and asked my mom how i was feeling and my mom was like what are you talking about h's fine.

Dude, it's the Phins and Jets for all the marbles! If push comes to shove divorce her! hehe

See if there's a beauty spa nearby that's open Sunday and give her a full package of facial, manicure, hair, and whatever else they do. Make the appointment for 4pm or so. That stuff should take a few hours. (I assume you have a Tivo/DVR and can catch up on the first quarter if you aren't home in time for kickoff.)

Take her to a nice lunch/brunch first, then drop her off. It's not like you'd be with her during the spa treatments anyway. Then pray that the game doesn't go into OT, since you'll ruin the whole thing if she's stuck waiting for you after she's done. (Suggesting she drive herself home probably isn't a great idea.)

You could skip lunch and pick her up after to go to dinner, but if the Fins lose that might not work out so well.

Also, be sure to overplay your gratitude that she's such a terrific wife for being so understanding about it, even if she isn't.

Whats number one, the Dolphins, or your wife? Lol, just kidding. Sucks to be you man, women are different, and some are cooler than others. You are married to her and should know what to do with her in this situation. Find some way to compensate, compromise, or record the game if you have to. Its a week away, you could set something up in that time.

Are you actually "GOING" to the game at the Meadowlands?? or just going to a sports bar to watch it?

If you are going to be physically at the game then I would say your wife should be a little understanding since it's a big game...but then again you should have known about the date before getting tickets...bonehead move on your part.

If you going to watch it at a sports bar over her birthday...then be prepared for the inevitable that you'll not be getting any "action" for a LOOOONG time!!

One word for you..."DVR"

The Caribbean loves the Dolphins! It will be on their local stations, well it was in Mexico last year. I cannot speak for Cuba though.
