Sparano said he'd like to name his starting quarterback by the third preseason game but that is not etched in stone. He praised rookie quarterback Chad Henne for his progress since the rookie minicamp back in early May. He also complimented receiver Derek Hagan and cornerback Andre' Goodman. ...

After practice Sparano threw some lesser-known players a bone when he said he was impressed with the work of WR Davone Bess, CB Scorpio Babers and NT Anthony Toribio during the weeks long OTA workouts

Im real happy to hear Bess got some praise, I know someone hear loves Toribio so I mglad he got some praise too.

wow, i'm starting to hear good things about Hagan. seems like he rested on the fact that he was drafted highly for a while, and now realizes that if he doesn't pan out now, he could end up in the CFL next year

I would also like to add that Hagan, Roth, Crowder and many others haven't had the coaches of the calibre we have now and I won't be surprised if any of them explode into their draft expectations this year.

Whatever it takes, I don't care. I just want these guy's to produce they have the tools.

he gave more than a compliment to hagan, he spoke very highly of the guy, maybe hes trying to instill the swagger that he needs to play with but that was without question the most praise he has given to any one player.

Karl Dorrell thinks Hagan can become a number one reciever, and Hagan is saying that he is gonna start. So, the kid has big things in mind. I think Hagan can be a number 1 but he has to hold on to he damn ball. I remember a game against the Jets when Saban was around that Hagan took over and almost brought us back to win, but critical drops kept us from winning.

I don't think he's trying to do anything. I think he's just noticing the confidence that Hagan himself is exuding right now. Tony Sparano doesn't strike me as the kind of coach that would start fibbing to the press in order to molly coddle a player and try and stoke up his confidence. Just not his style.
