Hene's not the future says me. I don't understand the love fest with Henne. He has done nothing to show us that he is the next great Pro-Bowl caliber QB this team longs for. All I saw during the pre-season game verses the Jags was a QB that did not look comfortable, stares down every pass on every throw, sIts down and takes sacks without even trying to break away. I saw nothing special. What I saw in White with the Third team was more impressive then anything Henne has done in two years. I must say I was upset with the White pick and thought Henne was the future but now I think Henne will be the one holding the clip board and White will get the chance to prove himself. Look for a free agent QB pick-up next year with another project QB taken in the draft. If Chad Penny has a solid year I could see the Phins putting the franchise tag on him.

Just my observation and two cents. Don't kill me for calling it as I see it all you Henne fans.

Dolfanwally!

I've heard it said many times before, the most loved player on a team is the backup QB.....except in Miami....here it's the third sting QB, go figure.

I don't think you understand the gravity of the situation you have just gotten yourself into by starting this thread.

i don't understand either. usually, players are given the time to be groomed, especially at a critical position such as QB. on here, if you don't light up the scoreboard in week 1 of pre-season, you're a bust.

I have to agree somewhat, I wasn't impressed with Henne but he hasn't really played enough for me to write him off yet.

To me watching both of them I just didn't see anything special about Henne the other night, it's too early to know what he is yet though. White seemed like the opposite, he just seems like he has the "it" factor that you look for in a QB, but again it's to early to really know.

He might be OK but I will say this. If he were any good he should have been much more successful vs the Jags 2nd and 3rd team defenses. Especially in the first half where he had Ricky and the starting O-line at his disposal.

Washington as well. Apparently the fans love Colt Brennan. As for Pat White, Henne has only been here for one more season than White and We did use a higher pick on White than on Henne. Add to that the fact that since Marino retired Miami fans (or at least the media) have been notoriously fickle about QBs if they don't step out and immediately play as well as Dan Marino, it is a hard situation to be in for a young QB.

I agree 100%, he should have lit them up. He played OK, i will give him that, but for a player who is supposed to be ready to challenge for the starting job, I would have expected more.

Some people wouldn't know a quarterback if he walked up and took a dump in their pocket protector either....

....and some of those guys have held jobs in NFL front offices...

You certainly can't hold a fan to such high standards....

The love for Henne on this board is completely justified, he has a huge upside, no doubt. The love for Pat White on this board, however, continues to amaze me. Henne hasn't been overly impressive, but White can't even take snaps from under center yet for God's sake!

This is a ridiculous thing to say. Frye literally let the dlineman straight through basically untouched. There was nothing Henne could have done. Every qb in the NFL would have gone to the ground.
