You won't hear this on the NFL Network or on ESPN but the truth of the matter is that Chad Henne outplayed Tom Brady on Sunday which is the reason the Dolphins upset the Patriots. Sure Chad Henne missed a few throws that included a wide open Loushaka Polite but so did Brady; I recall Wes Welker wide open down the middle of the field on a key 3rd down and Brady missing him by about 5 yards. Henne made better decisions than Brady as well; that pass Brady threw which was intercepted by Vontae Davis was a horrid throw. Great play by Vontae Davis, I'll touch on him in a minute. Brady threw 2 interceptions, Henne threw one. Chad Henne had his first career 300 yard day and the only difference for Henne is that Tom Brady as a Hall of Fame Receiver in Randy Moss and Wes Welker. Our receivers played well yesterday but let's not be crazy to think it's level playing field. Again Chad Henne bounced back from a missed throw to hit Greg Camarillo on a HUGE 4th and 6 conversion; Chad now has 3 4th quarter comebacks.

I want to call out 3 young players on this team who will be stars in this league. First is Jake Long; Long deserves another trip to the Pro-Bowl as he is as dominant as they come. Our entire offensive line as a whole played a good game only allowing one sack and it starts with #77. Vontae Davis was the best Corner in this draft. I said it on the other board before the draft last year at caught a ton of heat from "the experts" over there but I am laughing hard right now. The only two players to be Vontae Davis are Terrell Owens and Randy Moss who are first ballet Hall of Famers. This is Vontae's 3rd interception of the season and non were bigger. Take notice on Cameron Wake. This guy is the best pass rusher on the team and one of the best in the league. Yes better than Jason Taylor and Joey porter.. I said it. I have watched extensive tape on this guy and his bull rush is simply amazing. I hope this guy can develop into a three down player. This guy was an absolute steal and Channing Crowder will get credit for the interception but watch the bull-rush by Wake. Brady was scared for his life.

The difference in this game for me was that we shut town a Tight End. Dallas, Clark, Antonio Gates, Dustin Keller, Kellen Winslow, and just about every other Tight End had career games against but not this week, not Ben Watson. kudos to this team on a big-time win. Playoffs? Too early to tell but I can take you something for sure..something special is brewing in Miami and it starts with #7....

Vontae Davis is a beast, sure he gets beat every now and then he's still young but he has two INTs going up against Randy Moss on jump balls now. he hits like a load of bricks, we can credit his hit for stopping sammy morris a yard short on a key 3rd down. The guy can cover and while all the hype was on Sean Smith during the pre-season. Davis has been better but he is more polished I will add that so not trying to down Smith he should be good.

The funny thing is that you picked my very small brain - I wanted to write a post celebrating these same 4 players and their "upside" - Long was obvioulsy there for the WC last year in NE in that impressive beat down but Henne on the sidelines - the newest members to beat the Pats: Henne, Vontae, and Wake got the "monkey off their backs" they don't stand in awe of the Pats and that is good. And no one wil question that they cannot do it again...

Vontae's is goming to get beat just like Champ Bailey does now and again but he has a short memory and he needs that..., TO pushed off last week but the vets get the breaks now and again...

Long was an outstanding pick last year and is the anchor for years to come...

Wake is ideal for 3rd downs

For some reason the OC has taken the TE's out of the gameplan for the Pats. Not sure how much of the credit goes to the Fins. There was only one attempt to a te yesterday (Baker).

Henne played well. Given the complete lack of pressure brought by the Pats (or allowed by the OL), he performed as any qb should.

its a damn good thing that welker doesnt have top speed if he did he scores instead of being caught by bell from behind

Man Henne looked fantastic yesterday..

I am so excited for this and year and the years to come...

He makes all the throws...

He missed a few wide open ones it happens tho...

This is kid might end up being great if he stays healthy...

Is he way more mobile then he gets credit for..

I love his rollout and throw on the run ability...

His arm is super strong...He needs to put some touch on some throws..

He still holds the ball too long..but hey thats risk reward....

We are on our way....

And its about damn time!!!

You made some great points and I agree.....They never would show that Henne outplayed Brady on ESPN. But when I called my freind to bash on his team, he tried to ask me what Henne's numbers were, at the time I hadn't even known he outplayed Brady.

Also, on that last defensive play of the game, I remember watching our D-line and thinking, Cameron Wake is in, just get some pressure.....sure enough that is who I was watching the whole time and sure enough he got to Brady's legs quick and forced him into a bad throw. I went nuts hollaring at Cameron Wake on my TV screen. lol

Wake is a beast..

The guy can flat out rush the passer...

Yea he performed as any QB should by throwing the ball and winning the game. Henne stepped it up in that second half with a bunch of lackluster receivers to pull off a big W. Henne played better then the opposing QB did in the 4th quarter.

Henne was actually sacked when Brady only had a handful of pressured situations (obviously the last play where got bumped into and then proceeded to place his head into the ground and do whatever it was that he did).

I don't think its true that Henne simply played as any QB should since he was the QB that manned-up on that field. Brady had every chance to end that game.

If Brady had the type of protection / time Henne did yesterday, he could have broken every passing record on the books. Kudos to the Fins D for that.

Brady was pummeled time and again, especially when he was waiting for Moss to get downfield, and was lucky to get three seconds on any given play. Again, gotta give credit to the Fins D for that. Think henne would have had the same #'s, or even close, if the Pats could generate that much pressure?

Sacks don't matter that much. The last play is a perfect example of that. I bet Brady wished he took the sack instead of trying to make the throw. At least they might have had time for one more play. Instead? Game over.
