I really liked how Henne's first look seemed to be downfield, then he'd come back underneath tonight. Henne seemed to be wanting to seriously challenge the vertical field, which opened up the underneath stuff AND the running game, imo.

He showed good pocket presence and came back from a forced fumble without letting it shake him. He missed on a couple passes but overall his accuracy was decent.

I busted his chops for last game so now I'm giving him his props. Solid.

Although... I wish Pat White were a couple inches taller, lol. If he were tall enough to sit in the pocket and see over the line, learn the pocket game first, he'd be a steal.

His synapses and quick arm are not teachable. That's just God given right there. The ball gets there so quickly when he throws it, and he's got excellent feet, quick. Just needs to learn the NFL game from the pocket first, and he's a keeper. Two years to stardom, though, as a QB.

Henne is definitely a year ahead of him, you can tell.

Overall, good night.

He had some throw's dropped on him.. he was off the mark a bit on others.. but he had a good night.. I also liked him against Jax too.. minus the int.

But he is what he is, and at this point he's inexperienced.. and no matter how much he's coached, until he gets some solid playing time you really wont see progress in leaps and bounds in accuracy or route timing or decision making.. experience is the best teacher.

IMO he made a lot of progress from 1 game to the next. Will be interesting to see how much he plays next week.

I love Penny, but having the ability to make every throw is something I have missed from a Phin QB for a long time.

Although Pennington needs to get his time with and against the 1st teamers next week, I can't help but want to see Henne play against them.

It's funny because last week he was blasted for staring down receivers and now this week I have heard the naysayers complain that he could only complete passes underneath. Of course they don't mention the fact that he was looking down field opening up the underneath routes.

He looks like a competent NFL QB and that's really all you can expect. While we've been productive, the passing offense looks sloppy in the preseason but thats the way things are with guys shuffling and half the guys out there being fodder. I'd like to be able to evaluate Henne with some more reliable receivers out there because right now a lot of our hyped up rookie receivers have been pretty useless so far.

I have to disagree....Armstrong needs to go, but Turner made a nice catch on the sideline to keep the drive going and Hartline made a tough grab in traffic....

People might want to open their eyes to the fact that these are guys we got in the third and 4th round....Nicks who lots of guys here had a hardon for has had his struggles in NY.

Most guys here hated both the WR picks, now all of a sudden these are hyped WRs??? You can't have it both ways just to try and make yourself feel better.

Most of the time he threw underneath tonight his first look was downfield, even if for a moment. He did a much better job overall, imo. As far as his eyes, I mean. Very workable.

Henne could be a good to average starter, imo.

Of course, the same could be said against all the second and third string QBs we've seen so far in the preseason. Henne can do what they do, yes. The only question is this: is there greatness in them thar hills? Hmmm...

I see serviceable, but still want to give him props for tonight.

I don't know what game you guys were watching. When I think of henne this game the following words come to mind: " staring down receivers".

Where are the big arm throws? isn't he supposed to have a sick arm? He didn't show it at all today. I am a bit dissappointed however, I am happy we won and some other players looked good like Soliai and V.Davis

I wasn't refering to you LD. The in game thread had some pretty ridiculous comments about Henne's performance.

Yeah the greatness thing is something that I question as well, but that's very hard to ascertain from preseason play anyway.

LD's right on. I'd love to see him line up with the 1st teamers against the first teamers next week but that won't happen.

I think he played pretty solid. I liked that when he got sacked and fumbled, he didn't show any frustration and kept his cool, and continued the drive as if that didn't happen.

But boy, I wish that throw to Wilford was completed! Might of not been his fault though, Wilford isn't exactly fast, but then again, it could have been his fault. Either way though, solid performance.

i like henne and dont really care for pennington because of his noodle arm, but the bottom line is pennington gives this team the best chance to win right now.
