It seems to me as though Pennington is being played as if he was a rookie. For the most part he's only making short throws to the outside, and can not complete a 3rd and long to save his life. I would like to hear some of your opinions why Henne is not our starting QB as of right now making the same short throws as Pennington is right now. I for one would like to see Henne in there now, but not because i have given up this season. I know he will not be able to protect the ball as well as CP, but i would like to see if he is in fact our future before next years draft. We are only in the 2nd year of our "rebuild", and although i have not given up on it, i believe the years following this one should be what we are preparing for.

With Ronnie Brown possibly leaving, and Ricky retiring, we are going to have to address running back for sure. If we wait to find out if we have a quarterback we will be fooked for a couple more years. We need to know what we have right now. Maybe we end up with Troy Smith to run the wildcat next year while we wait another year for Henne because we waster this whole year with a guy that won’t be here?

I think Pennington will never be benched as long as Parcells is in charge. He is in love with Pennington and is the one who drafted him in New York

Parcells does like Pennington but I don't think he will stop the coaches from benching Chad if they thought it was best for the team.

Like Parcells said on Sirius Radio earlier this year.
Chad Pennington "brought a confidence," and that "the coaching staff did a very very good job with him." He called Pennington "a very good leader" and "a very good game manager," while acknowledging "that also is a little bit limiting from time to time in terms of taking a chance here or there."
If the coaches thought Pennington was hampering the offense with his reluctance to take a chance here or there, I don't think they would keep him in just because Parcells likes him.

Ricky isnt retiring at the end of this year he is retiring at the end of next season

If we stick with Pennington all season then we still won't know what we have in Henne. Put Henne in and let him sink or swim. Then if he sucks we need to draft a QB in Round 1. If he looks good then we're in business for the future.

Did anyone watch last night's game? Penny's three throws. that were dropped touchdowns, were all down field. The Fasano catch would have been an incredible catch even though I think he should have caught it, but the two to Ginn should have been caught. Even the announcers yesterday were talking about how Penny was working the out patterns which we all say he cant throw. Am I the only one seeing this, and trust me if there were a better option I'd be all for it, but to not see that Penny had a good game yesterday and could have had a great game is beyond me.

He managed the game as poorly as I've ever seen when there were 3 min left.
When he ran the QB sneak he got up slowly, with no sense of urgency. Even the announcers commented on it.
When he fumbled, it was because he did not step up into the pocket, even though the O-line did a good job diverting the DE's to the outside.
The sack by Freeney was all on CP. He held onto the ball like David Carr or Rob Johnson.
How many yrs has he been in the league?

I thought Pennington played well. He's conservative but that's not a bad thing. He did not lose the game...Ginn and the defense lost it.
I'm thrilled Henne is able to continue to learn from the sidelines...his time will come.

Like Manning said, 'you learn from being on the field'.

You people and this learning on the sidelines stuff. You learn from getting hit and having to make reads. NOt holding a clipboard and being #3.

You don't shelve the season after 2 games by changing QBs. Henne is not ready as evidenced by his dismal pre-season. You won't see Henne start until the coaching staff determines that the post season is out of the question. There is a real possibility the Dolphins start 1-5 and at that point, they may decide to make the change.
