I have a feeling this kid will be good. first of, dont judge him off of yesterday's performance. he wasnt ready plus he was running pennington's plays. also, henning wouldnt let him throw farther than 10 yards. i think next game, henning will let henne air it out a little and start getting chemistry with ginn.

one more thing...

RUN THE BALL!

The Oline better get their pass pro kinks worked out, Ronnie needs to grip and rip that ball. Give Henne every opportunity to succeed and I too think he'll come through for us. I don't mean in wins as much as proving we won't need to draft another QB next year.

A friend of mine who is a streelers fan sent me a text.. Hey, your back up could turn out to be the next Brady - dont get down..

does anyone remember how brady faired when he took over the starting nod? Was he an interception machine? Starting down WR? I dont know

IMO highly unlikely.

I wonder if this pumps up Long.. Maybe he will have more incentive to destroy DE's since his boy is now back there

I hope they let Henne let it rip out there. And don't constrict him to short passes, dump off passes, etc.

He's got a cannon...let it fly and see what happens.

I got a feeling we will see a ton of wildcat mixed with lot of pat white.

I hope they don't handcuff the kid and make him just hand off the ball to get in 3rd and long .Where they will make him do the play action so that when he is done faking it there is a D line man in is face.

We've had plenty of QB's with very strong arms who were terrible so that aspect of it means nothing. If Henne can just be average though and not make a lot of stupid mistakes we'll be ok on offense.

I would much rather see him throw it 10 to 20 yards downfield and make some mistakes (first regular seson start) than throw like we have this season

I think Henne will get better and better as the season progresses. I also see Ginns numbers going up (if he can hold on to the ball). I really see our completion % dropping to like low 60's, but all other positive passing stats going up. Turn overs may go up a bit, but to be honest they already had. However the reward to turn over relationship should be good.

He was not an interception machine, but his first couple of games he was not productive. The first game he came in off the bench he want 5-10 for 46 yards. They lost that game 10-3. He finished the season with 18 TD passes, 12 int's and 3 lost fumbles.

No. We are fuked. Just face the fact that season is over and start planning for the draft.

I know he threw the ball after he went passed the line of scrimmage but that was still one hell of an effort.
