In announcing his Super Bowl expectations for the 2003 Dolphins, team owner Wayne Huizenga might have forgotten one of the truths of business he learned en route to his billions.

In the NFL, it's no longer enough to have a roster filled with star players and have the sideline patrolled by competent coaches. There are other challenges, sometimes unmanageable ones, that determine a team's success or failure: overcoming injuries, meeting one's potential, handling surprises with aplomb, even having a bit of luck.
