Here is $8 mill and Ireland is gone. Please Cowher? OK $9 mill. DEAL

... Wouldn't be opposed to that at all. Is it realistic at this point though? Probably not.

Bottom Line: so far in this coaches search Ireland has served us well if he's prevented Ross directly or indirectly from hiring a mediocre coach with 6 out of 17 winning seasons, a cloud of dust run first philosophy and performance over the last 2 seasons that rivaled Tony's. Just sayin :idk:

Nice, but not gonna happen. =( Cowher says he doesn't have that 100% drive to be all in coaching right now.

I really wish some kind of Great unexpected news came out of Dolphins headquarters... I just don't think these guys have got it in them to pull off....

Cowher was asked by at least three teams about returning to coaching and he said no. Get over the trying to blaming Ireland for your misery.

I don't want Cowher.

He doesn't want to coach here or he'd already be here.

I want guys who don't need to be coerced, or are siting until the axe falls on their favorite spot.

I want a guy who will make Miami his primary destination. Period.

Stop playing Madden already.

I realize the obsession with Cowher but I do not want to overpay a coach that really doesn't want to put the time in you need to be successful in this league. If money is the motivating factor then we'd be in for another 3/4 years of disappointment.

Zimmer, Philbin, McCoy, Toub, and Carmicheal would all do it for the chance to be successful...that's the route I want to take.

Did you just have a conversation with yourself in the title of this thread?

Former Pittsburgh Steelers coach Bill Cowher says he is not ready to return to coaching, despite receiving multiple overtures from teams.
“I don’t know if I’ve ever been that ready, honestly,” Cowher said during a Thursday appearance on the “The Dan Patrick Show.” “Let me tell you, if there’s any doubt, then there’s no doubt you’re not ready to come back. You have to be all in to take that job.

“I enjoy where I’m at right now. That’s all I did for my whole life. Right now I have a chance to have an offseason, to do some traveling and do some things I’ve never had a chance to do before, and to be honest with you I’m enjoying that. There’s a part of coaching you’ll never replace, and I do miss part of that.’’
Cowher, who won a Super Bowl with the Steelers, did not say which teams had inquired about his services recently.
However, it’s interesting that neither Cowher nor Jon Gruden is rushing back to coaching. Both men have found analyzing games to be far less stressful than coaching them.

If the guy truly wanted to coach right now he would have made himself available.

Throwing money at him at this point would probably make him nothing more than a mercenary.

One of the individuals most disappointed in seeing the NYG's resurgence and reasonably good shot at winning the SB is Cowher, believe me.

You are grasping at straws. We have been through the big names Parcells, Saban, Johnson with very medocre results. The only big name we have had that worked was Shula and he was young and hungry when he showed up. Give Ross some credit for seeing this.
Really the only non big name was Mueller. Dave W was appointed by Johnson and he won a playoff game and delivered the goods better than all the rest not named Shula until Dave W last year in the NFL and Sporano was annoited by Parcells. So think about what you ask for.
