It would be a hiring that would require some outside the box thinking, but I'm intrigued. The guy has head coaching experience, albeit in alternate leagues. He has had success though, and he's done a heck of a job with Andy Dalton this year. Maybe I'm pushing for the wrong Gruden.

Jay is John without the over the top intensity. If John Gruden is in Miami, I expect Jay there as well, but I do agree with Bianchi, sooner rather than later Jay will get his shot.

I like the idea. The guy is no stranger to being a head coach even if it isn't in the NFL. But I really like the idea of bringing in someone to help Ross hire a guy that is relativity unknown, but at the same time has been around long enough to know what he is doing.

Despite the media reports, I highly doubt Jon Gruden was ever a legitimate option for the Hurricanes. A lot of people think Gruden can be a success in college, but could you imagine him trying to pacify big money donors? His temperment isn't cut out for it.

What i heard is that Jon wanted to be the Canes coach only if Jay was appointed OC, that´s what the article is pushing: Jay Gruden as our HC.
