Saban dosen't like trading draft picks correct? He just traded our 2nd round pick in a draft that is loaded with talent in the 2nd round. I don't think he would have traded the pick unless he has some sort of plan. What are the chances that we trade out of the 16th pick to stockpile more picks?

I would not be suprised at all if we trade down, especially if Cutler or Young slip to the 16th pick.

I hope they do slip to the 16th pick. Now that Drew Brees signed with AINTS how many other teams are going to for certain go after a QB?

i wouldnt be suprised either if he trades it but i i think if there is a real solid player that slips to us there is no way he would pass up on that

The key to trading down from 16 isn't Saban's willingness -- he almost certainly would be willing. It's finding a trading partner to give value.

You don't trade from 16 to 28 to pick up a 6th round pick. You do it to pick up a 2nd round pick.

I would love to somehow trade with Denver who has two #1's on the block, and then deal again and get a second rounder...

If Saban doesn't like what he sees at 16 then I want to trade down to the 2nd round and nab CB Antonio Cromarterie..

Maybe we can trade our #16 for one of Denver's picks AND a 2nd rounder? Or find another team that would give us thier first and 2nd for our #16.

There is absolutely, positively no way that #16 is worth Denver's two first round picks. If Denver still has its 2nd, it might be worth one of them and the second.

#3 - Titans - Leinart
#4 - Jets - Cutler
#7 - Raiders - Young

That's what I see happening if the Saints don't trade the #2 pick.

Listen I'm sure he didn't want to part with the pick. But please, can somebody tell me the last time a proven franchise QB was traded or was even aloud to hit the FA market.

Pepps for a 2nd rounder is an insane steal on our part.

Uh, Drew Brees?

It's not an insane steal, but he was worth the pick.

Ah, he only had 2 good years, and that was once he got somebody else to throw other than LT... Before that this guy was on the verge of beeing benched for a rookie.
Edit: forgott to mention his hurt shoulder.

It's not an insane steal, but he was worth the pick.

Some Dolphins fans seem to be the only people thinking we got a fair/bad deal. It's because they would rather keep the pick or give up less. Look at it from a NFL standpoint, not a Dolphins fan "I want to keep all our picks" standpoint.

Believe me, I'd love to have kept that #2 but we got Pepp a TRUE franchise QB for him.
