Here’s my final mock draft

F+

Corner in the first is an auto F, anything besides trenches is doomed to repeat the same fatal errors, it’s not how you build a good football team. Inside out, inside out, inside out.

You got the f+ because I like Tyliek would be higher but I see no way Jackson makes it to the 3rd. Highly unlikely Shough makes it to the 5th they are saying 2nd or 3rd for him but in any case I can’t justify a rb or qb in the 5th before going safety or corner again.

Tend to agree. However there is a difference as you know between what we think we should take and what we think Grier will take.

Example, I want Harmon @ 13 but won't be surprised if Grier grabs Banks or a corner.

Literally 4 of my first 5 picks are trench players. We have no cornerbacks with Ramsey leaving, so I wouldn’t be surprised if Grier selects a corner first. Qb is pretty important if a good prospect is available, and we already grabbed a corner First. This is meant to be predictive as opposed to who id draft, In any case, we’ll see what happens soon enough.

Even with this I’d sign the best remaining corner in FA after the draft and someone like will Hernandez and even another DT in free agency after the draft.

You might get ready for a MAJOR disappointment then if you don't want a corner at #13. If Johnson is on the board I'd be shocked if they don't take him.

Sorry those are the rules, trenches or F first round. It’s your highest probability of hitting a solid contributor and that’s wasted going corner at 13.

The harsh reality is 60-70% of players selected will end up as not being good contributors. The longer you wait round wise the lower the percentage that player pans out. That’s not to say you can find great late round picks but we have Grier as our gm to best to play the odds. I don’t see any scenario that waits longer than the second round to address oline.

I’d say oline/dt is a must for 1/2 but given the strength of DT my view is you either take advantage of the strength as DT is projected to have some great players in the 3rd-5th and you double down with say a 3rd and one of the 4ths or you go with who you view as elite after Graham whether that’s Nolan/Harmon/Grant.

Jackson is likely gone by our second pick let alone third and waiting that long sounds like another recipe for disaster.

Corner is a waste, they are too dependent on the dline and we didn’t have great corner and maybe the worst safety duo in the league last year yet finished 11th ranked defense which tells me that great secondary play doesn’t appear to be vital. Obviously you want good players as opposed to bad ones but this draft should be purely focused on trenches. If a corner they like falls to the 2nd maybe you pull the trigger but that’s the highest I’d take anyone in the secondary.

I mean I can’t say I’d be surprised but it’s a bad move no matter how you slice it. Corners are too handicapped by rules to matter or justify the 13th pick.

Throw storm duck/kader/smith/bonner out to the wolves maybe grab a corner in the 2nd but this draft should be trenches. Honestly wouldn’t be mad if they went oline/dline until the 5th then threw in a blocking tight end in the 6th or 7th

The fact we usually can't agree on the color of the sky, but are lock step in this opinon should speak volumes to the casuals around here.

You don't win by having a great secondary and bad trenches. We have 25 years of data to prove this as true.

Ding ding ding ... we have a winner.

I believe it's a case of cart before the horse ... spitting into the wind ...

If the foundation isn't prioritized until it is right, skill positions are a waste of time.

The secondary won't matter (pick your line-up) if the DL can't pressure.... or stop the run.
The secondary can't cover and stop a mobile Qb simultaneously.

The Dolphins struggles over the past few seasons should validate my stance.
The Eagles may be a good place to start for a blueprint for building a team.

The dolphins are going to trade down if the first pick is a corner and still get a good one, DT to me is the most important because they can't stop the running game, There will a veteran to come in and take Ramsey's place and then draft a corner that wants to play ball, Cam Smith could help out if he gets his head out of his trash disposal.
