There's no question that Miami needs a #1 receiver and more quality targets in the passing game. Bess, Ginn and Fasano have all regressed after showing promise a year ago. But beyond the wide receiver issue another problem area that is painfully obvious is the linebackers lack of coverage ability. Both middle linebackers are one-dimensional run stoppers, both outside guys are basically one-dimensional pass rushers. Opponents are making things look easy in the passing game by exploiting this weakness. It's vital that the Dolphins go into next season with better pass options for Chad Henne, but they also need to find some multi-dimensional linebackers who can stop the run, rush the passer and cover in the pass game.

Good job of pointing our lack of complete LBs. Every team needs a sideline to sideline ILB who can cover and take down ball carriers. Every team needs pass rushers who can also contain the edge and stay home to cover their responsibilities when it is the run. Its not very hard to predict what our D is going to do and easy to game plan against. PP knows this more than anyone. Hence the lack of confidence in blitzing. Even still it may not hurt to not abandon the blitz in entire spurts of the game.

Since we're talking REAL problems here.. Has anyone given any thought to the coaching as being the REAL problem..?? I mean isnt it the responsiblity of the coaches to push the right buttons.. to call the right plays.. to assemble the right chemistry..??

How many times have you heard.. this coach got in the face of one player, because he knew that is what it would take to elevate him?? and what about what Bum Phillips said.. Don Shula can take his and beat yours.. or he can take yours and beat his..

Can anyone honestly say that Thomas, Long, Fasono, Ginn, Porter, Wilson,.. is playing their best and their smartest football?

The Wildcat was a brilliant set of plays to throw into the game plan, it caught many teams by surprised and it gained us a lot of yards, but IMO the Wildcat has just about played itself out and needs a new injections of options, or something new needs to be creative..

We've seen the Wildcat wrinkle in the offense, what wrinkle does the defense have? I havent seen one, unless you call Porter blitzing off the end as a wrinkle.. lol And who, or what brilliant coach decided to call a defensive scheme that locks Davis with Moss, one on one without any safety help? Either that was a poor defensive scheme or one of the safeties was out of position and not playing smart, which leads back to the above statement of it being the coaches job to have the players properly skooled and prepared to play...

Naw, I didnt think so, so I must conclude its the coaching that's dropping the ball on this one..

You know I want to blame the Oc and DC for this, but we have played 8 games and we see the same mistakes happening over and over again! By flat out luck our defense should have made a stop against Indy or the Saints for the win. The bottomline is when schemes and play calling are becoming a problem the HC needs to fix it! Lets see if in the second half of the season Tony makes some tough decisions. Because there is a lot of tough decisions to be made right now concerning play calling and schemes.
