Miami Dolphins

Joe Philbin sends the Dolphins to line up at the 15-yard line for an extra point. Then he calls a fake, with Brandon Fields ordered to throw to Caleb Sturgis for a needlessly difficult and complicated two-point conversion. Then he calls a timeout to see how the defense reacts to the fake, changes his mind and orders an extra-point kick. It's the final minute of fourth quarter, by the way, and the Dolphins trail by two.

Ouch. That one stings a bit.

Some of the funnier ones

New York Jets

Geno Smith will lead the league in two-pointers. Because, you know, a safety is a two pointer.

Cincinnati Bengals

The Bengals lose in the first round of the playoffs when Andy Dalton manages to underthrow a two-yard pass.

Denver Broncos

Adding 13 yards to extra-point kicks has little effect in the Mile High environment. The Broncos still manage to miss one against the Patriots.

The new extra point rules are silly. Why change it just to change it?

But hey, sure glad we have... uhh... Caleb Sturgis....

I can see it being more exciting when a team scores to take it to overtime and need the extra point to tie it. May be more apt to go for 2 now.

I can see the reason for it. My wife is not much of a football fan. Her reaction to the extra point is "What's the point? They always make it. What a waste of time."

They are trying to encourage teams to go for two more often by making the extra point less automatic. I don't know the success rate of 22 yard FGs. Should be interesting with our kicker.

Houston Texans
Arian Foster shakes off three tacklers and dives for a conversion. J.J. Watt somehow gets credit.

ndianapolis Colts
Andrew Luck fumbles. Trent Richardson somehow gets blamed.

These are the two I thought were the best...

Place the ball at the 15 yard line for a 1 point attempt... place the ball at the 7 yard line for a 2 point attempt.. The scoring team has to announce to the ref's what they want before the huddle...

So honestly what is the new rule if a team lines up to kick an extra point and then fakes into a 2pt set where the kicker motions to a receivers? Does that team have the right to line up on the 15 yard and motion out of a kick formation to the 2 yard line? lol. Pats to be the first to try!

Oh and don't get me started on the muddle huddle.

I didn't read the article yet but this should be in there:

The Seahawks have taken a 26-25 lead with no time left, now just the formality of going for the extra point. But wait, Pete Carroll decides to have Russell Wilson throw it up for grabs...INTERCEPTED...its run back for 2 points and the Patriots win back to back SBs!!!!!

I don't like this rule. I would have rather they just drop a net down that makes the width of the FG posts skinnier or something. Roger Goodell sucks.
