POWAY, Calif. (KABC) -- San Diego Chargers linebacker Shawne Merriman was arrested early Saturday on suspicion of assault.

A spokeswoman for the for the San Diego County Sheriff's Department said Merriman is accused of choking and restraining his reality TV star girlfriend Tila Nguyen. Nguyen is also known as Tila Tequila and previously hosted a reality show.

I have no sympathy for women abusers (see the Brandon Marshall threads). However, why is Merriman dating Tila Tequila of all people? One would think that a person is his position could do better.

Lynch got a 3 game suspension and comes back just in time for us.
Calvin Pace got a 4 game suspension and is back just in time for us.

Merriman will probably get a 2 game suspension

If true and he is convicted, a suspension will obviously follow. We may be looking later in the year or next year. This kinda stuff can take some time.
