I think a lot of fans forget that the cupboard was bare when Tuna, Ireland, and Sparano took over the team. In two years, they have managed to completely change the culture of the franchise. The new owner has also taken a step in the right direction to make Landshark Stadium a a great fan experience.

They've had two offseasons, and while some of the holes have been addressed, a lot of work remains.

1. It is obvious to everyone that the Dolphins have no #1 receiver. We need a guy that teams must account for when he steps on the field. We need a guy that scares people. We haven't had a guy in this mold since Duper and Clayton. Marino always made his receivers look better than they were, and no coach or GM since has found one.

2. Why is it that teams with good TE seem to always have an advantage over our defense? It's a consistent symptom of the need for a playmaker at MLB and one or maybe even two new safeties. Defense is built up the middle. Crowder, Ayodele, Bell, and Wilson aren't getting the job done in the passing game. They're good thumpers in the running game, and that's what Parcells initially wanted. However, none of these guys seem to have the athleticism to stay with TEs or RBs in the passing game. At safety, it might be time to look at Culver and Clemons. I don't believe we have a MLB on the roster that can be the future of the position. We need to draft one immediately.

3. Joey Porter and Jason Taylor are old. Are the heir apparents on the roster right now? Not sure. I do know that this seems to be a position that's always loaded in the draft. Wake might be one piece.

4. The defensive line needs reinforcements. Is Solai the answer behind Ferguson? Do we have anyone behind Merling, Langford, and Starks?

Bottomline, this team still has a lot of holes that need to be addressed. It will be at least two more offseasons before this regime can fill all the holes.

Dont expect The Sunshine Band to respond to your thread. They are probably still running around their houses in their Taylor jerseys telling themselves the Phins are still going 11-5. I agree with your post, and id also like a more athletic receiving TE. But your point about JT and Porter is the most pressing IMO. Once they retire, this team better have some young pass rushers ready to go. All 4 lb's need to be replaced IMO very shortly.

draft in two's for LB's. Maybe 3 of them like when we drafted Langford, Merling and Dotson.

draft Eric Berry with our first round pick. Move up if need be.

Get a good WR in free agency, hopefully if one is there.. But there should be.

Trade Ginn to Baltimore and Cam Cameron for a 2nd or a 3rd.. Helps us draft more people in a deep draft.

Find an athletic pass catching tight end. So many other teams have them, as we have seen them beating us. Fasano is too slow.

Not having a good pass catching TE threat is not helping our receivers any. And vice versa. Imagine how much it would help Henne and our passing game if he had a great pass catching athletic TE like Dallas Clark.

Re-sign Ronnie Brown.

awesome! lolll

:rimshot:

The band is waiting for the 10 game in streak, Ginn break out season, Crowder making plays an avg ILB makes, and our team to get a WC spot.

then theres me that KNOWS this team is not a playoff team let alone make hte playoffs so losing close EXCITING games to me is better htne winning and going 8-8 and drafting in the 18-24 range. Give me a top 10 pick with a fun rest of season so we can get some solid playersand I am happy cuz no point in having a .500 record all it does is hurt us in the draft department.

Top 10 puts us in great position to draft a pass rusher, ILB, NT, or even S in round 1-3. I'd even trade out of that 10th spot get a late 1 and an extra 3rd. down with that **** yO :callme:
