I'm so stoked to join you guys for the home opener!! Just booked my trip for the weekend and bought my tickets!! I go to miami once a year for a game. Coming from Los Angeles is no cheap getaway, but it's the dolphins! Ride or die till the end! I hope with the new refurbished stadium the yelling will make the stadium loud and combine that with the humidity will give us home field advantage! Sad to say I've been to a few games so far and it's no where near loud as I thought it can be. But looking forward to cheer long and hard with all you guys!! It will be my first time staying in Miami Beach though! I usually just stay in Miami gardens but decided to go all out. Staying at the Mondrian and wanted to know all the spots people recommend?! Food nightlife anything. Looking to tailgate as well!! Cheers guys!!! Go dolphins!!!!! From LA!!!! Whooooooooohooooo!

I didnt want to start another thread. I did have a question, as Im looking at my departing flight, will I be cutting it close when the game is over and driving to Ft Lauderdale Airport? My plane leaves at 6:55 and I'll be turning in a rental car. Will I be ok with that timeframe?

Yes, that is cutting it a bit close. Game is over at 4pm and to get from the Stadium to FTL Airport you would probably need to leave before the 4th quarter is over to beat the mass traffic leaving the stadium. I would see if you can switch your ticket to a later departure. It can be done, but is a bit of a tight window IMHO especially if you get stuck in the traffic leaving.

Yeah. You should be OK. What airline?
The rental car drop off building has a bridge to T1 (United and Southwest).
All others can be reached via shuttle.

The drop off is an easy one.

Keep an eye on our future tailgate thread. If park in our area it is very easy to exit the stadium.

Great, ! from Canada, I wish I can say the same.

Phins 4 ever that would be awesome!!! Im also looking to tailgate somewhere as well!

My airlines will be Jet Blue.

I figure maybe to park way outside near the stadium or somewhere to avoid the traffic.

I guess my question would then be, where would be the best place to park then to avoid traffic?

Jetblue is T3. You can either walk from the car rental place (appr 15 to 20 min) or take a shuttle. The airport is tight and easy to navigate.

It is about a 30 min ride from Stadium to Fll. All highway.
What section are you sitting in?

If I would leave from our tailgate spot and head to FLL it would be 45 min run, no more than 60.

I will give exact instruction how to get to the tailgate spot (light pole East 22) from every possible angle in a week or so but in your case it is very easy. You would take i95 north (from South Beach I395 to I95) to exit 151St and take the Turnpike for about half mile and take the flyover ramp to the Stadium. That basically drops you right on our tailgate doorstep. If you are using the cash lot you park to the left and after parking you cross the street and keep to the right. If you have an orange parking pass you take Gate 2 and keep to the right.and it will bring you to us.

Man, game day traffic sucks, big time. I'd be really careful. Unless he leaves early it is gonna take him 30-45 mins just to get onto the turnpike.

The airport is easy to get around, but he still has to get through all that TSA crap.

Get your flight pushed back a few hours, you'll thank me later.

When have you been last toa game? And where do you park?

Got rid of my season tickets last year when they tore out my seats and put a tunnel in its place.

I park in the inner lots, orange passes.

I think it depends where you park. Our tailgate section is in the East lot close to parking gate 2. Its a breeze getting out.

You should be alright. Once you get out of the parking lot it would probably take no more than 30-40 minutes to get to the airport. Boarding sounds like it'd start by 6:15 so you should be good to go.
