Joey bosa went at 3...hes miscast in a 34 an ideal 43 de but too good an overall player to last...once eli apple went at 10 to to my knowledge a non press team miami got stuck...apples physical gifts it appears trumped scheme ideal fit and i get that...that kid was worth a top 15 pick and nfl scouts knew it...i cant even fault the teams decison makers for not seeing that coming despite the trades in front of us

There was no corner worth the 13 pick after that to miami

once myles jack made it out of the top 10 you knew he would continue to slide cause that kids way too talented to sit around for any other reason than medical...

so miami was left with a top shelf tackle option or jack who it now appears was a no go in the first round...and once he got out of the top 10 you had to expect to nose dive...

laremy tunsil was easily the bpa at that point...i know its not sexy but the bottom line is this team in 2016 goes as far as gase and that qb can take it and i will never take issue with protecting that qb...ever

tunsil is imo albert insurance and 3rd tackle legit player active depth out the gate at tackle...i do not think it makes sense for miami to kick albert inside this year to make tunsil a "starter"...we now have 3 top shelf pass pro tackles in house and in a 5 man heavy protect 11 personnel o thats a big damn deal...dont kick albert inside til he shows you he doesnt have the short area lateral quicks to handle space play at left tackle...

teams are going to have a hell of a time getting to the qb off the edges in 2016...we havent been able to say that in forever...do not cut albert do not trade albert stick with this 3 man tackle group for 2016...

if they kick albert inside to get the best 5 on the field i may get it but id only consider that if the guard group is just not getting the job done...

appears to me barring another draft addition on the oline that tunsil and douglas are your active depth on game day and bushrod thomas and urbik are competing for one starting gig and one depth one at guard...my guess is this addition means the end of dallas thomas but maybe im just hoping for that to be the case...

at pick 42 the corner top talent is picked clean so dont force it...look to ogbah., whitehair, spence, or michael thomas as a #2 wr in that order...one will be there...

my guess though is miami may go the sua cravens devontae booker route or force a corner...and make no mistake about it a corner pick at 42 is a flat force given whats on the board

Watch out for the clemson kid tj green also who has terrific tools and is being looked at as a press corner...he has the length and physical tools teams covet and the athlete explodes on tape...more press corner body than safety

At some point myles jacks talent will trump the medical...that should be the wildcard on day 2

Last of all odds are good 2016 is brandon alberts last in miami

No opinion of Tunsil at guard . . . Armando report that is where Miami has him pegged to start?

What I've seen is Ogbah is good but as far as pass rushing, he's stiff and lacks some skills that might not translate as an edge rusher. You don't like Kevin Dodd? He was rated as a first rd talent that is still on the board. The third best DE, pass rusher.

I guess they could do it to get the best 5 on the field but long term i dont see that...i think hes a left tackle...his run game play at tackle even isnt all that...but its not like jawaun james can kick inside

Id kick albert inside first...tunsil anchors well but hes not a move you off the ball guy and i dont know why youd kick that inside...unless the guards are just terrible again

Good write up but I think Ragland is in serious consideration for us at 42.

Jack, Dodd, Ogbah, Spence, Ragland or Alexander in round 2 for us

Wide 9 i think you can get away more with a guy that doesnt really bend...the wider ogbah aligns on tape the better he looks...doesnt really know what hes doing in terms of polish which is why i want him in as much space as possible to get a head start or running start on tackles

I do like kevin dodd but i dont think he athletically has enough burst as a wide 9 edge

I dont...a mike lb who fits the 34 best as a thumper is a mistake...they could do it but i doubt it after trading for alonso

Mackenzie alexander maybe but i dont think they like the size for the scheme and neither do i

Oh no question he's LT long term . . . was talking 2016.

Tunsil at Guard would just be stunting his growth and stall the inevitable. Kick Albert inside to guard where he's played before and let the bookends of James and Tunsil commence.

If its the best 5 and i need to show i drafted a starter as gm that makes sense...otherwise id roll into 2016 with tunsil my active 3rd tackle

it depends on what guys look like in camp for me...id bet on billy turner at one guard bushrod or urbik we will see

I thought bend and burst was important. Cam Wake was so good, because his burst and they said his bend with how around the corner he could go making it hard for tackles to get low and block him. It's only one report, but it sounds like he's more athletic than Ogbah and has burst.

Kevin Dodd from nfl.com report Relentless competitor with NFL-ready frame. Refuses to give offensive lineman a play off. Not content to be around a play, wants in the action. Won't lay on blocks and able to improve his position after contact through footwork and strength. Never drops eyes from ball location and is able to unhinge from blocks quickly to make a play when the ball enters his patch of grass. Extremely instinctive and well-coached. Snuffs out screens, bootlegs and shovel passes almost every game. Takes his contain responsibility very seriously. Insane production spike from last year to this season. Saw his quarterback pressures go from three to 46 and he was credited with 12 sacks in 2015 season. Athletic upfield burst with desired bend and hip flexion to corner the edge. Has length and leverage to become an effective speed-to-power rusher. Wore Alabama out with three sacks and two tackles for loss. Tape shows a player who played his best football at the end of the year.

What I bolded there, I like and feel is very important. Long arms is important which he must have when they say he has length too as I don't think it just means height. http://www.nfl.com/draft/2016/profiles/kevin-dodd?id=2555338

what I have bolded for ogbah is troubling to me. WEAKNESSES Shows some stiffness in his hips and is not a dynamic athlete
OURCES TELL US "He's stiff and upright so he has no counters as a rusher and then he doesn't even play hard all the time. If you are going to be the hulk, then play hard all the time." -- NFC area scout

BOTTOM LINE Upon first glance, Ogbah appears unimpressive because he doesn't play with the quickness or athleticism expected of productive pass rushers,

http://www.nfl.com/draft/2016/profiles/emmanuel-ogbah?id=2555278

Dodd is rated higher, and appears to have more burst and athleticism than Ogbah.

I'm not too bothered by the pick. Who do you see as options for CB going forward hoops?

What would your next few moves be?

Good write up man. Appreciate the input. I'm definitely excited to have tannehill get some time now. I like the idea of maybe putting tunsil at LG then loving him to LT next year if Albert leaves. Idk what your opinion is but I truly think Kendall fuller is an elite talent with tons of upside even though he went to Tech. Definitely a good round two pick. We'll see what happens I guess

Make no mistake about it we added top shelf talent and got better today

Just dont miscast it
