this is in order of preference. i've also added some notes on a few players. don't be shy with the praise.

#25

a) hakeem nicks wr- the physical #1 wr we so desperately need. most importantly proves the yac that we've been missing and the ability to break tackles instead of going down with a stiff wind. is this the next anquan boldin???

b) duke robinson og- the mauling physical run blocker we need on the inside. the best run blocking interior player in the draft

c) dj moore cb- an underclassmen which may take him off our board but a physical lock down cover corner in the making

#44

a) sean smith cb/s- i project as a free safety will watch closely at the combine

b) louis delmas s- also played cb while at western michigan. better in coverage than i thought a heady player who can deliver a blow and i think can play either strong or free safety

c) clay matthews lb- i project him inside in a 3-4. a replacement for channing crowder???

d) rashod johnson s- i'd be very happy with rashod but there are questions about is he an every down safety. i think he is. very heady player and a ballhawk. a free safety in the pros.

e) kenny britt wr- i only have him falling this far due to a supposed poor attitude which may take him off our board all together but this is a #1 wr talent. possesses great size and strength. a boom or bust player to me.

#56

a) antoine caldwell c- of all the centers i saw at the senior bowl i thought he handled size and strength the best. i just think he's the best fit for what we want to do at the position on offense. anchored well and showed great push.

b) robert ayers olb- a one year starter which may be a flag for the regime this pick is purely about upside which ayers has a lot of.

c) jarron gilbert de- another 3-4 end to work into the rotation

d) jamon meredith ot- dominated in shrine bowl practices played left tackle at south carolina but i see him as a right tackle in the pros. good feet and power. vernon careys replacement???

#87

a) coye francies cb- this guy really intrigues me and i see a lot of upside. love his size.

b) jonathon luigs c- i think he also can play guard. a combo player. didn't perform as well as i hoped in one on ones at the senior bowl but in the game i thought he played well. a lunchpail type guy.

c) eric wood c- thought he held his own in the senior bowl when matched up with raji. not sure he's strong enough to handle noses however.

d) cody brown olb- i loved what i saw from brown at the senior bowl. from gaining the edge to walking the tackle back to the qb by getting under the tackle and blowing him up with leverage. i just wonder about the upside.

#122

a) keenan lewis cb- love his size. a guy i think who's gonna move up at the combine. a steal in the 4th. best cover guy i saw in senior bowl reps. a willing run defender also.

b) tyronne greene og- donald thomas all over again??? powerful and physical. love his upside.

c) lawrence sidbury olb- extremely quick off the edge. this is a pure upside pick.

now for some guys i think are overrated. i'll name 1 for each position listed.

c- max unger

ot- phil loadholt

cb- macho harris

s- william moore

nt- ron brace

olb- clint sintim

ilb- james laurinitus

dt- bj raji ( top 10 pick is too high...he's a first rounder but not worthy of top 10 to me)

wr- darius heyward bey

as always these mock draft picks are subject to and most likely will change after free agency and the combine. the overrated players i've listed i don't think will however.

I sure would love to know why you think Macho Harris is overrated. I've just got done watching four more games of this guy very recently. He's a football player, through and through, and he's got speed and man cover skills that are underrated, IMO.

the main thing for me with macho is i'm hearing early 2nd round and imo that's too high. i look at him as a 3rd round guy. just my opinion.

all things being equal i'd rather have keenan lewis and right now at least i can get him much later.

I think you're overrating Laurinaitis because he was viewed by "mock drafters" as a potential top 5 pick last year...

Laurinaitis is one of the best players that could be available in the latter part of the 1st round...

He's durable, productive, big, and fast...

He's not a block shedder...but neither is Lance Briggs...

In the right system...Laurinaitis is going to be better than most people think...

Other than that...I can't think of anything I would add to your post hoops...

Nice job...

would like to see bj raji fall to us early in the draft
need a NT more than a WR that we take years to develop & may not pan out

i rahter take 2 guys in ur 44 than anyone in ur 25, those guys all are terrible picks.
o and harris is underrated, not overrated.

I like guys that dominate the games. Macho Harris dominates the games he plays, most of the time. If they challenge him, he makes plays on the ball. Otherwise, he makes big hits on the ball carrier.

Some team's going to be happy they have him.

thanks slim.

regarding laurinitus i think he's a better pro than channing crowder down the line but i don't think he's ever gonna be an elite player so i can't justify using a first rounder on him. will he be picked in the first round???...i'd say it's pretty much a guarantee i just don't want it to be our first rounder.
