Now I am not saying we should fold or quit playing...but our 6 game winning streak last year was for nothing. Only got us the #16 pick when we could have had a top 10. This year, since the season is already over and clearly we need help, I am hoping Miami finishes 2-14 with the #1 pick. This is the best way we can rebuild. We can trade down and get 2 or 3 quality offensive lineman, and who knows what else. Or depending who the best player is in college, go with him. I am so tired of this team's mediocrity. We need playmakers. And we dont have them. With Culpepper hopefully fully recovered and hopefully Ricky coming back next year, I strongly believe we are only 5-6 players away from contending in the playoffs next year. We can get a few good guys in the draft and a few in free agency.

So I am still rooting for Miami to win every game, but kind of hoping they dont so we get a good draft pick. So go ahead and flame me :fire:

I tend to agree. I obviously can't help but hope for a W during the games, but looking at the big picture I would rather have an amazing draft than another amazing NON PLAYOFF run.:cooldude:

How are we going to afford a #1 overall pick??? Other than gutting the roster IDK how they'd do it. I know some of you guys are for that, but on to what the poster here was saying...... if we gutted the roster then we are WAY more than 5-6 players away from anything

I dont think we need to gut the roster. But we need to get rid of some players who dont perform. Like Randy McMichael. Zach Thomas is getting up there in age, and though he is still a very good player, he is replaceable. But I think we can be very good is we got 5-6 really good players on this team. We need a difference maker at the WR position. Chambers isnt the answer there. I am tired of hearing about his potential every year. We need a few tough OLineman. And a few guys in the secondary. Our front 7 is solid on defensive.

whoa whoa whoa....zach thomas is replaceable?

ur dolphin fanhood should be revoked.

Players come and go. Zach, while still good, is 33 and wont be around forever. He has lost a step and cant keep up covering RB's. I am not saying I want him to go, I want him to retire as a Dolphin. I am just saying anyone can be replaceable. And it may be time to get younger.

C'mon now...Of course he's replaceable. Crowder can replace Thomas and we can sign an OLB via free agency and draft another one in the 2nd or 3rd round. Plus, he would clear $3mil for us to use.

ya we put crowder at middle and watch how bad he is compared to thomas. and we will not get a good olb in the 3rd round we need who we have, dont knock zach he is the best we got. you guys who think he is replaceable must of bumped your heads

EVERYbody is replacable..if we can find a good young MLB than why not sign him to replace Thomas. its not as if Thomas is just getting his career started dude is 33 not 23. he probably has 2-3 yrs left.

i know we all have emotional attachment to certian players but when you are trying to run a team and build a team you cant let your emotions dictate who stays and who goes..you have to do whats good for the team. which is why im glad fans arent GM's cuz Marino would probably be the Qb until he's freaking 50.

Zach still leads the NFL in tackles...our problem is not with Zach. If we have a top 3 pick and draft a QB then it is time to cut some big salaries, but not Zach.

We need someone like Calvin Johnson (WR for Georgia Tech) if we get a top 3 pick. So some people will have to go. Hopefully McMichael and Chambers. Maybe Zach would take a pay cut, but if not, then thats the business side of football.

Would you rather have a stud WR, or a 34 year old LB whose days are numbered next season?

I don't care who it is, no one will ever mean as much to this team at MLB again. Zach THomas and Jason Taylor are the face of our franchise and if you guys want them to do, you might as well say Dan was an "okay" quarterback. As for draft position, I want wins. Who cares about where you pick. How can you possibly root against your team, I don't get it.
