The defense was bad but they also came thru with a pick 6, and allowed us to get right back in that game.

After the 1st quarter, we held the Vikings to 3 points thru the third and 4th quarter. We were within 4 points after the Ballage scamper, and our offense fell on it's miserable face.

Looking at the end score and stat-line it's easy to say our defense lost that game, and in a lot of respects, it did. But our offense was putrid, again, when we had plenty of opportunities to tie that game, or take the lead and give some fire to the defense.

This is a Much worse stat

11 years ago teams were allowed to actually play defense and the league hadn’t had its offensive explosion outside of thst ridiculous PAts team.

The 2018 Chiefs have given up more yards than the 1-15 Dolphins as well.

Burke obviously wan't fired, but I think it sealed his fate.

I've been highly skeptical of Burke since Gase announced he was being promoted to DC and he's been even worse than I suspected to be possible.

That said, the best thing that could be done with a D that bad is for the O to keep them off the field as long as possible. Gase's shitty 3 & out Offense isn't helping anything.

It's a bad stat, but that's also today's NFL. Quarterbacks are making a mockery of the quarterback ratings, yards, td's etc. I think more than half the quarterbacks have ratings of 100 or above, which used to be elite numbers. Not saying Miami doesn't need to improve on defense. That is obvious.
