Houck / Linhen / Running Backs

The Ricky rumors are quite interesting indeed. IM a BELIEVER in Houck and what he can do with an offensive line and also a BELIEVER in Lienhen who proved his offense can be a power-house with RB'S just a tad above AVG and without Randy Moss.

Houck has more than proved himself everywhere he has went and had a Mediocore Sandiego O line playing WELL over their heads last season. Now this Ricky Thing? Well it's pretty god damn interesting if you think about it.

What can these 2 coaches do with -> Ronnie Brown, Ricky Williams and lets not forget Lamar Gordon who can play. If this happens and Williams comes back, I don't know how to view his year off from the NFL. If you think about it, its a whole season where his body doesn't take hits and has time to HEAL.

It also PUTS the STRONG HEADED Williams in the SAME EXACT situation he was in when he first came here from NO'S, actually he will have more to PROVE.

Its always better to be under-weight than overweight. IM sure Ricky can put on 10 lbs pretty fast and get up to 220 or so. He would probably be FASTER at that weight and he wouldn't need the extra 12 LBS or so, because he wouldn't be slamming into a WALL OF DEFENDERS 35 times a game under the new offense and with Ronnie Brown there.

And IM one of the guys who was excited about getting Lamar Gordon from the RAMS. I have direct tv and got to see him play quite a few times and was impressed with his speed, hands and toughness. Yes he has the injury bug and true he might not be an every down back, but he is a SWEET A$$ Compliment as a backup and better than Travis Minor.

I also really like Sammy Morris who we could keep as a second Full-Back. Lets face it , having Morris and Brown both out there at the same time is an advantage. Both have terrific hands and Morris has that surprising second gear. Was anyone else surprised with Morris second gear and his ability to run and catch? I sure was.

If we know anything about Ricky Williams, its that he LOVES to prove critics wrong and I think he will play VERY HARD if he comes back this year and will do his best to keep Ronnie Brown on the bench.

Lets think about this Finatics. Williams will only push Brown to use all of his skills and become a better Football player, FASTER! Brown in turn will push Williams to prove to everyone he is still Ricky Williams a very talented Running Back who led the league in rushing only a short 3 years ago without the kind of O line that the Ravens had in 2003 when Lewis did it, or last year when the 90 year old Martin did it.

Ricky is only how old 27? And has had a COMPLETE season off, so in Football years he is still 26! Sure he will have some rust on him, but IM pretty sure after a few camps ( Where he works hard) he will shake the rust off and be running the ball with speed and power all over again, looking at Ronnie Brown on the sidelines.

With a revamped O line, a new offensive strategy a Brown - Williams - Gordon - Morris backfield, may be the most dominate in the NFL. :cooldude:

I say let him back! I think with this schedule we have, we could win 11 games with this kind of talent!

thats a lot of words without saying much :D

Obviously, Ricky's play will help this team a lot. I think the most important factor is the pressure that he could take off Ronnie. A lot of guys are really hyped up, and understandably so - he was the #2 pick, but he is a rookie and this is a transition year for Ronnie. I saw in a thread a couple of days ago that one guy named Ronnie as the best RB we've ever had - thats with career stats of 0 carries for 0 yards and 0 TDs.

LOL Dude who died and made you POST PRINCESS? We don't curtzie here in the states. And Ronnie Brown might very well be the best BACK we have ever had here. He is just as big as Ricky but faster a better blocker and has MUCH BETTER HANDS!

And doesn't FUMBLE!

Don't be one of those 0 carries 0 yard guys. I think what the FINATIC meant was, we have never had a RB on this team with that kind of talent, and that would be true!

PS Here in the States if you insult someone, they might stick that bowl of Chips where the sun don't shine kid! Oh wait, the sun NEVER SHINES in ENGLAND! :roflmao:

There have been a lot guys come out of college with similar, or seemingly better, talent. As of now R. Brown has 0 carries for 0 yards. Ricky Williams is the most talented RB the Dolphins have had until proven otherwise. RW was a good blocker and a good reciever out of the backfield and had damn good speed, especially for his size. His biggest problem was obviously his fumbles. I do believe Ronnie will be a big time back for us, but as for now, he hasn't ran with pads on, hasn't gotten hit, and hasn't played against an NFL defense. Until then NOONE can say how great he is going to be.

I Agree Bring Back Ricky...any Good Team Needs Two Runners/and W Ricky And Ronnie, Better O Line Play Via Houck, And An Aggressive Pass Attack From Linehan We Will Truly Have The Balance That Norv And Wanny Only Dreamed About.

too bad that only one of them can get the ball on one play... ;-)

Ricky,Ricky,Ricky jesus give it a rest. Is this man coming back for sure? and if so will he play for the Phins? Does anyone really know besides Ricky himself?

I can bet that Saban knows whether or not Ricky is coming back and whether or not he will trade him or use him as a deadly one two punch with Ronnie B. Only time will tell.

Little known the media and fans, I'm sure "whether or not" he will return has already been decided. Fact is, NOTHING can be leaked or "officially" eluded to by anyone due to the nature of the NFL drug policy. If Ricky or the Phinz perform any "official" acts to reinstate Ricky until June 1???? (help me out guys), he's toast.

I'm sure the Phinz and Ricky already have everything decided and tucked away. It's just the "waiting" that is killing everyone.

Personally, I think June 1???? we will have press releases galore announcing Ricky's return. This site will be abuzz with all the haters and cheerers debating his role, ability and loyalty. Then the trade posts will begin. A WHOLE YEAR of the crazy trade scenarios.....

You think you're frustrated and tired of the Ricky talk now.......

Fasten your seatbelts.... The Weed Wagon is coming to town.

Let's just hope for the sake of the organization we receive a rededicated Ricky who welcomes split playing time and earns his 'mates trust.

Personally, I think this new situation is exactly what Ricky wants. He always told Wanny he didn't want to be the focal point of the offense. He simply wanted to do his part and allow the other players the chance to do their's. Fans forget about that fact. No one listened to Ricky. He was a troubled person with a fragile ego who specifically told people his limitations. No one listened and, well, here we are.....

"The biggest plus for me is I'm coming into a situation where they already have a good team. They're just adding a good player," Williams said. "I'm going to be surrounded with talent. I'm not going to feel like it's my job to win games. I just have to do my part."

Dolphins acquire Saints RB Williams (NFL.com wire reports)

As long as the TDs and yards piled up, who cared?

Funny how those pesky details tend to slip people's minds.....

I've been watching a couple of the old Ricky games, and man when he was on fire the guy was unstoppable. It was a joy to watch him bowl over guys like it was nothing. I hate what he did to the Dolphins by leaving them at the worst time, but if he hadn't Wanny might still be here and all the great things that have happened this offseason wouldn't have occured. I think with Ricky and Ronnie in the backfield, and with CC, Booker, Boston, and McMike catching and Linehan coaching our defense could once again be something to reckon with... now we just need for Feeley or Ferrote to step it up and have a good year. We have the potential on both sides of the ball to be a very good team this year.

You guys have one of the top 5 hardest schedules, don't you?

IMO I dont want Ricky back...I'm sick of hearing about him coming back and i think him taking away time from Brown would only be detrimental to Brown's gaining experience. We already have Gordon/Morris/Minor who are all capable of giving Brown a break here and there. For our record i think we'll finish around 7 wins.

its # 3 if i remember correctly its a lot to prove but then again strength of schedule is based soley on last years results

hardest schedule because based on every teams performance of last season - god we know how fast that could change...

Question For The Mods

I've read about three posts on this thread, and I've already seen the Lord's name taken in vain twice. I'm not a religion nut (I don't attend church), but I believe in God, and it is far more offensive for me to read that in comparison to profanity that I hear (and probably use) on a daily basis.

So, my question is: If things such as calling another person an idiot, and using words like @ss are against the TOS, why isn't taking the Lord's name in vain? (Or is it, and this thread just hasn't been edited yet?)

I'm honestly not trying to be a PITA, but it bothers me a bit. I appreciate your time.
