Having faced the Jets, Cardinals, Pats, and now Chargers, we have faced all 3-4 defenses...Houston will be the first 4-3 defense we face this year

Do you guys think that changes anything scheme-wise? Will the wildcat be as effective? Perhaps more effective? How will our O-line deal with the different look?
...
I think the 3-4 provides a more confusing look for the Oline so I think a 4-3 defense will be a good change for our Oline in pass and run protection.. I'm not sure how it will affect the Wildcat formation

I'd think the 4-3 would be less effective agaisnt the Wildcat, as, it's more an "Act" rather than "react" D.

Never know, though.

Keep in mind, the Wildcat is only one play that, to my count is run about a 1/3 (-) of the time.

Long vs. Williams should be an awesome matchup. I expect Williams to be relatively quiet.

Williams usually lines up on the left side of the defense so he'll be going up against Carey more than Long.

The Arizona Cardinals have talked about going to a 3-4 but they haven't done so yet. Check the depth chart.

Good point. But he'll occasionally see Long on Wildcat plays. :hi5:

I don't care if they play a 4-3 .They are giving up 4.5 yards a carry out of their little 4-3 and are ranked 26th in the NFL vs the run. Buckle your seatbelts men and get ready for the R&R Express to run all over them.

As I've said many times here before...this ain't last years team, this ain't the teams that couldn't beat the Texans in years past, this is the NEW BEGINNING BABY!
WE WILL WIN ON SUNDAY!

Not only are they allowing 4.5 yards per carry. How about they are allowing 139.8 yards a game and 8 TDs on the ground. Maybe Im wrong and they stop the run, but much like the Fins attacked the Charger threw the air knowing that was their weakness, I expect us to punish the Texans big time on the ground. I would love to see Ronnie rush for 200 yards for the first time in his career. Well see I hope we win.

Ehh, I wouldn't think it would change much. Remember, just because a team uses a base 4-3 or base 3-4...doesn't mean thats the look you get on every snap.

2nd. Cards are not a 3-4 team despite having Calvin Pace be an LB last year, and Chika Okeafor/Clark Haggans this year.
