How About Ernest Wilford WR Jags?

No thanks. 520 yards for a starting WR doesnt scream out to me.

Mybe he has a hard time getting open or mybe the jags just run alot more but i would take a chance on one on one coverage with him.

No but I dont see any improvment over what we already have.

lol, yes we have a bevy of +500 receivers

no wait we have 0 +500 receivers

1-15 shouldn't be turning their noses up at every FA

Wilford's agent would laugh at such hubris

We dont have any 500 WRs because we dont have a QB that can get them the ball. Jax has had them. A 500 yard reciever on any other team is good for about 50 on the fins of last year.

It's hard to get impressive receiving yards when your team rushes for 300yds a game and your QB is asked to not lose the game. Hmmm reminds me of 10-7 leads with RW up the gut,RW up the gut,RW up the gut, punt, lose.

Considering all the crap QB the Jags have trotted out on the field. I'd take a look see.

The Jaguars have also wasted a lot of WR playing time on Matt Jones and Reggie Williams, both top 20 picks who have been given every chance to play ahead of Wilford. Wilford has been a solid #3 WR for Jacksonville, and has the potential to be more than that. If we were to sign him, he'd be the best WR on our roster, so how anyone can say he's not an upgrade is beyond me. Ted Ginn, at 178 lbs, may never have the size/strength to be a top productive starter in the NFL. Terry Robiskie, who loved Ginn coming out of college and coached him for us, said that Ginn is a long strider and has problems being quick in small spaces. If he can't improve that, then he'll never be anything more than a deep threat. Right now, we do not have a starting caliber WR on our team. Signing Wilford would be a step in the right direction. But, if we do sign Wilford, I hope he's our 2nd best free agent WR signing. I would really like to see Bryant Johnson. He's been a productive guy, but has been stuck behind Boldin and Fitzgerald. I think we could lure him here with the promise of letting him compete to be our #1 WR.

The Jags are a running team, thats why the WR arent so productive,i would take a look at Wilford

Your right he's been a solid number 3, but I'd think he'd proved to be more when Jax been struggling to find consistant preformer at the WR position. J.Del Rio showed everyone he's willing to give people the chance to play by taking a huge chance on cutting ties with Byron Leftwich. He'd do the same for a WR if someone would have stepped up. I'll take him in a heart beat but I'm not expecting him to be the number one go to guy that your post is leading to. I'd honestly say T.Ginn has done more with less and looked awfully good when given the chance. I'd love to see DJ Hackett brought to help our cause, but if it's Wilford then I hope it turns out to be Jax's loss.

We need at least 2 FA recievers so we need to take a serious look at anyone that becomes avalible.

I like this guy.

Only if Bryant Johnson's middle name is Ernestwilford and you are referring to him by middle name. Then I say yes, go after Bryant "Ernestwilford" Johnson.
