How about the pass rush for the two back to back games? I know it's pre season, but it is still encouraging to see this. The sacks and pressure came in this game, and while last week there weren't the sacks like this game, Miami kept on putting pressure on Garrad last week too. The thing is this, Miami had issues having pressure on the qb last season, but also, I don't recall Miami getting pressure on the qb last pre season as well and remember not feeling too good about how much time Miami was giving qbs in the preseason as well. All I know is that it is refreshing to see Miami brining good pressure. What I have seen is, is the defensive ends coming around and closing in and getting pressure on the qb, or always looming in for a sack and not giving the much time and when the DE are locked up, some of the DTs have come through the middle and were getting pressure inside, and on plays both DEs or DTs were locked up Joey Porter or Matt Roth were getting sacks or pressure.

So what is encouraging about this is that they are getting pressure and doing well from all sides and if one position is locked, another one makes up for it, so basically the pressure is not dependent from mainly the DEs, or lbs, but one taking over the slack for each other. All I remember is being discouraged last regular season and pretty much most games and the pre season last year, of the qbs having so much ridiculous time to throw the ball against Miami's defense from the inconsistent or lack of pressure. I swear they could have finished a novel and still throw unhurried with how Miami's defense was as far as the lack of pressure goes. This will only help the secondary and help in the sense of offenses having to guess where the pressure is coming and not just be able to hold it off if locking the DEs, because of the players coming from all sides.

Oh yeah one other thing, it looks like Merling and Langford are coming along fairly well, and hopefully Joey Porter will stay healthy from the nagging injuries he's had, as he's been getting at the qb too, like we expected from him last season.

The Defense has been very impressive, hope they Knock Farve on his *** over and over and over again.

you can't forget crowder. Hes doing a fine job back there. I am thirlled as ever.I just hope this is a sign for things to come. I would love for us to go from worst to people fearing us in one year..man im excited. You have to thank the guys up front especially Ireland and Parcells. They have some balls.

I agree our D-line is much improved and is going to be awesome for years to come. But we cant get discouraged on opening day if we get manhandeled on the line, jets o-line is pretty good, not going to lie.

Yeah man! That's a great test right out of the gate, let's earn that respect!!!

and what about that coverage sack ! man that's impressive... i knew we had some pass rush, but to get a coverage sack feels good since our defensive backfield has been a problem so far, that might give'em (and us) some confidence... keep'em coming guys

*nice pick mike lehan, welcome back

This is something i would have said "you're crazy" a few weeks ago. Since we had lost Jason Taylor and Keith Traylor two of our best veteran lineman. But i'm really starting to believe it now. I really liked the Merling pick when it was made, and he's playing great thus far. I liked the addition of Ferguson and Starks, Starks certainly played well tonight. Langford has looked good thus far and of course Holliday was good. So this potentially could be an excellent defensive line, hopefully the answer to our run stopping woes, and probably better than last year.

Ferguson, Faneca and Mangold are gonna be tough to get threw, but Woody and Moore dont seem to worry me so much. We caused pressure last week to a very tough Jacksonville line so we will see.

Woody is ok.....

Well i say that because he was a guy i advocated in bringing to Miami in like 2003.

Jeez. We play really big now. It's beautiful to watch. With all the DL as LB experiments we've gotten a lot bigger. Parcells works fast getting his type of team together. We're also flashing some fire and nastiness we sure as **** didn't have under Cam.
