ive never seen such a big dip in production

It happens. They lose faith in the coaching. They're poorly prepared and conditioned. A few key injuries. Some players that were playing over their abilities in a contract year (Soliai) come back to earth. Similar to what happened in 07.
 
Starting Nolan Carroll and Rashad Jones doesnt help.. Also doesnt help that they are totally throwing the season.. But to give some credit, ALL defenses are playing badly.
 
I think nolan is trying to pull a jason garrett. call ****ty plays until the head coach gets fired and then start trying
 
they were 5th in yardage last year, but were middle of the pack in scoring last year.

i said going into the season; they dont play good situational football, and while they do have talented players, the defense never seems to play as a unit.
 
the defense went from 4th in 2006 to 23rd in 2007 so its not the first time
 
We played bad last year against good QBs. Its not.immpressive to dominate Trent Edwards, a declining Brett Farve etc. etc.
 
the offense was 12th going into today compared to like 30th last year. its coaching .bottom line
 
By letting a scrub QB named McCoy march his team 80 yds in less than 3 minutes and throw a game winning TD......

time to watch two good Defenses play on sunday night football.....
 
Because they are operated trash! They haven't stopped a tight end or had a impact play since the first half of the Saints game in 09!
