Im thinking he has the itch back. I also heard someone on ESPN make a Dungy-Miami comment while he was on the broadcast and there appeared to be an awkward look on Dungy's face when it was mentioned. Does Dungy want to coach again?

I don't hate Dungy or anything, but I'm not a fan of his coaching style. He's too quiet and laid back imo. Perhaps that's a small gripe considering his body of work, but I like my head coaches with attitude and fire; something Dungy lacks. He seems better suited to a team full of veterans that are good character and hard working types. I don't think he could control a chaotic team like Miami, which I believe needs more of an in-your-face, get-your-job-done-or-you're-fired type of coach.

tony is a good coach i thought about this before
he does seem a bit laid back and i think that in a way is a good thing
its like a cool calm demeanor and players respect dungy..
Tony makes men out of boys. It's good to have a coach that will get in somebodies face
though that doesn't work with everyone tony is more like the father figure..

Tony dungy would be in my top 4 i think he should be interviewed at least..

Like Sparano ?

Well that would.definitely mean tearing down our overrated defense! None of them but maybe Vontea, Langford and Starks could find roles on the Tampa 2.

Tony would be a great coach and immediately instill the respect of his players. He'd be a calming influence on Marshall fersure. I think the current criticism of his "speak softly but carry a big stick" style is an overreaction to the success (at least so far although that might turn on a dime) a certain tootsie-loving, lap-band snapping immoral buffoon has been experiencing. I'll take substance over flash any day of the week. Doubt Tony would come back, although this is close enough to his Tampa home base to make sense from that standpoint... but I'd take him in a NY minute.

Tony Dungy has publically said he is burnt out. RED FLAG

Everyone can get "burnt out" in any type of job. But, maybe after a few years off he has the passion again. I know i've been fatigued and almost burnt out at work and also watching the Dolphins, but it hasn't affected the passion I have for my career or my dolphins.

I wouldn't be upset by that hire, but I think there is about a 0.00001% chance that he returns to the NFL any time soon.

Tony Dungy is Dave Wannstedt, if Dave Wannstedt had the luxury of coaching in the NFC South and then going to Indianapolis to coach Peyton Manning.

NOT even close. we can argue that Tony built the SB winning team that Gruden won a SB with. And he certainly built Indianapolis into a perennial winner. Even with Manning they haven't been the same since he's Left.

He's the same caliber as Cowher.

Calling Dungy, Dave Wansteeche is one of the more ignorant things I've read in a while.

in order for him to be a good coach he needs a player ala Peyton manning who demands the respect of his team, Tony never really had to get down his teams throat because he knew peyton had the command and respect of his team and they would follow his lead.

If by some chance we get luck and he can prove to be a role modle player like peyton then dungy might make sense, but in reality he publicly stated that he doesn't want to coach anymore.
