As I stated in another thread, It's almost like Martin had the Monday after the New England game circled on his calendar. What better time to spread his agenda and drag the franchise through the mud than back to back prime time games and 11 days between said games. He likely had this planned for months. Granted, if Incognito hadn't been so harsh to him, he may never have gone through with the plan, but still...

I'm in the camp that Martin realized that he is a crappy football player and is looking for a way to get a big payday because he knows it won't be on the football field.

Does anyone else find the timing of this whole thing strange, or am I being a conspiracy theorist? (which I hate)


IMO, Martin and Incognito are both POS and neither is welcome back on the team

It does appear that there has been some calculation involved. Whether it was his brainstorm or his parents, we have a young man with marginal talent and serious mental issues (which is no joke) and/or what appears to be a very savvy team representing him, making moves to secure his future after football. It appears the realization that a) he sucks and b) he cannot handle the alphas around him, set in motion a chain of events leading to where we are now.

Frankly, I empathize with his illness, but I'm disgusted by his/their tactics.

Cogs is done, Martin hopefully is done too.

I find the timing odd as well. If the reports are correct that we're hearing, he stormed out over a lunchroom prank that he himself had helped to pull in the past. I really think losing his LT job was a major factor that sent him over the edge. He had been having issues with Richie, to the point of missing OTA's (voluntary) and speaking to Philbin in the past, now he gets demoted. I believe that was the final straw.

Yes....agreed... and I also think Richie was genuinely blindsided by this and truly considered himself a friend of Martin. Heck there is a picture being retweeted on twitter from 09/30/2013 of some girl who asked to take a picture of both of them while they were out at a bar.
