I called it the first year. I realized his pocket presence was terrible, even for a rookie. The 2nd year I pretty much knew he would never pan out.

His biggest issue is he lacks confidence. He looks and acts timid, doesn't lead, and doesn't express himself vocally.

I would also like to add that he has created more than half of his own sacks, just by standing still in the pocket or backpeddling and at 6'4", how do you manage to get swatted twice a game?

He's a good guy, but he lacks football IQ and zeal, has no ballz far as dealing with teamates either.

Congratulations. You should work for an NFL team.

Never cared too much for "I told you so" people...
Congratulations... we still suck. Hope your happy.

gfy, go get a job in scouting

gfy = good for you? or go **** yourself?

who knows....

I never liked the pick when we made it but having said it it was only fair to give him a chance to prove if he had it. My issue with the pro Tanny crowd is the sheer amount of excuses that were dredged up for his failings, they are still doing it to this day, "the whole team sucks, unfair to pin it all on Ryan". It's been obvious for a few years now that he's not getting any better and just doesn't have what it takes to succeed at that position, the annoying thing is it's all mental with him, physically he's got the lot, he's a smart kid (not really a kid anymore) too so it's baffling to me why he lacks so much in football smarts.

Some people see negative attributes and believe they can be overcome, others see a reflection of themselves in the negativity, and rejoice.

I hate I told you so threads as well. However, lets face it many here have wavered back and forth on Tannehill including me, I respect the ones who kept their convictions either way. I understand the "I told you so" though as the anti Tannehill guys are called idiots, anytime an article comes out bashing Tannehill the author is an idiot, any player or coach who speaks out against Tannehill is an idiot, any coaches wife or beat writer :)who speaks out against Tannehill is an idiot, any non Dolphins fan base who doesn't think he's any good are all idiots and of course anyone who thinks Matt Moore could be better is an idiot. I mean who's the real idiots here? I've been here a while and can see why either side would gloat a bit if they proved to be right. It's not over yet, I expect more "I told you so" I just hope for the sake of the my favorite football team it's the other guys.

Good post, that's a p[oint that shouldn't be forgotten here, the pro crowd have rammed this "it's everyone else fault and you are stupid if you don't see it, Tanny will win us a SB if we fix this other thing in the team" mantra down the throats of those with doubts on his ability. Of course they will now paint these folks out to be "told you so" types but they have every right to do that.

And the detractors have been called worse. They've had their fandom denied (not just questioned) by the most adamant in the pro-Tannehill crowd. They've been told to find another team. They've been told they have no knowledge about football. They've had their positions straw-manned into things like #QBWinz when every detractor I've seen has acknowledged more than one problem on the team.

The thing is, despite the loss of a few of the diehards yesterday I think there's still problem a half dozen or so left, and I suspect their position is only going to become more entrenched. Things may get a lot more bitter before this is over.

Something I feel must be stated is what 'I told you so' means in this situation. I can't speak for others, but there's no gloating involved here. Those of us who believe Tannehill isn't the answer aren't happy that the Dolphins are so endlessly bad/mediocre. If we're happy it's because we think the team may be ready to move on and take a chance with developing a new potential franchise quarterback. It's something you have to keep trying until you hit on the right one, and even once you do you keep developing the next one.

Are you seriously trying to claim the team hasn't been bad?
