how did we lose our 6th round pick?

oh, I thought we got a pick from SD. I guess we had to give them something extra since the two salaries were horribly imbalanced
 
So we lost our 2nd to MIN, our 5th for Manny Wright and our 6th in the Feeley trade?

We just have a 1, 3, 4, 7, 7, 7?

Look for Saban to trade down from #16 and acquire some extra picks.

If he can get impact players at 1 and 3 rather then pick up a bunch of training camp fodder in the lower rounds....I'd look for us to stay where we are. We have several pressing needs which the #16 pick could address at least one spot for a starting position.

The 2nd rounder....Culpepper is the trade/pick and we're all ok with that. It should still work out to be a good draft and/or what we got in exchange for picks.

Wright for the #5...good trade. If he would have done better academically he could have played longer at the collegiate level and was projected to be a 1st/2nd round pick by the time he graduated....so we got him a bit early...that's ok for me and he's got a year under our system and in the NFL which is harder then college.

The 6th for Cleo...well...we had to get rid of AJ one way or another and a 6th for a backup 3rd string QB....I've seen worse trades (ala AJ).

Either way you look at it....this year's "Draft picks" will yield multiple good players for us.
 
True, but we could move down from #16 into the 20's, still get a starter AND pick up a 2nd or 3rd rounder.

The good news is this draft is deep at the positions we need. There's a lot of good OL's, DB's & LB's this year.

With #16 & #82 we could get OT Winston Justice and a 2nd-Tier DB or LB, or we could move down in the 1st round and get Eric Winston AND (2) 2nd-Tier DB's/LB's.
 
Good point. I imagine it would be one of those last minute deals as we're on the clock after looking at who's available at #16.

I am hoping so... but I wouldnt exactly be upset with drafting a guy like Greenway, Lawson, or Jimmy Williams either...
 
I think cleo lemon is going to be a good 2nd string QB behind Dante. I also think that if we trade down in the draft for more rounds it could be a very good desision.

dont understand how so many people are downin cleo.....he hasnt even got an opportunity to show what he can do other then the preseason with the chargers where he did pretty damn good......im not sayin he is anywhere near starter potential but from what ive seen he is a decent back up/3rd stringer for the money
 
San Diego fans liked him ALOT and he did pretty well in the preseason before he was traded to us.
