I sense quite a bit of bandwagon going on here, lol. (j/k)

How exactly did you become a fan of all your favorite sports teams?

NFL - Miami Dolphins
NBA - Miami Heat
MLB - Florida Marlins
NCAA - Miami Hurricanes & Florida Atlantic Owls

My background: I'm Jamaican, lived in Brooklyn.. raised in Miami^^

Aside from my favorite teams, I root for favorite players as well, i.e. I'll pull for whoever Kobe plays for as long as he's not going up against my team, and quite a few others as well.

I'm just curious seeing how many people have favorite teams in other states.

Dolphins: Dan Marino made me a Phin fan
Knicks: Hometown team, Patrick Ewing was my favorite college player
Mets: The mets ruled NY in the 80's. Straw, Doc, Mex, Carter, Darling, Dykstra, etc.
Isles: The first team I ever liked. I remember watching them win their fourth straight cup during my 4th birthday in my aunts basement.
Miami Hurricanes Football: The Flutie game was the first college football game I ever watched. I thought they were awesome even though they lost.
Syracuse Basketball: Truthfully I dont know.
South Carolina: Alma Matte.

Miami Dolphins: I idolized my babysitter's son when I was around 5.... He was a Dolphins fan and loved Marino.... that's when I decided the Phins were my team.
San Francisco Giants: Barry Bonds was my favorite player when I was younger. Still is, I am going to get some serious heat for this...
Miami Heat: Tim Hardaway... 'Nuff said.
Iowa Hawkeyes: My family is full of Hawk fans... they wouldn't claim me if I were a Cyclone.
UNI Panthers: I go to school here, gotta support my college.

None of my pro teams are near my state. But the college teams are all in state.

Dolphins: I moved here when I was weeks old. I grew up with the team.

Lakers: Miami didn't have a team and my favorite player was Michael Cooper. I still root for them when the Heat is eliminated.

Heat: Once Miami got a team, they became my team. I have seen maybe 98% of their games since they started. I might miss watching maybe 2 games a year.

Hurricanes: they represent Miami Football. I played in Highschool and it was always a source of pride that the Canes were usually 90% local boys.

Mets/Marlins: Again, Miami didn't have a team, and I grew up watching WOR on cable and watching the mets. I still have a hard time letting go of my allegiance to the Mets, So I had a hard time dropping them altogether. So I root for the Marlins and Mets. If they played each other in the playoffs...I would probably pull for the Marlins.

Panthers:

Dolphins - Cousins converted me at an early age from the Giants, & Ace Ventura

Yankees - I am from New York

Jazz - John Stockton was my idol growing up

Rangers - 1994

Rutgers - Friends who play on the team

Dolphins-Dad was a huge Shula fan and brought me up to be a Fin fan even in Patriot country.

Red Sox-Live in RI

Boston Celtics-When I was little I was a Heat fan but because of my cousins and other family getting on my case about liking them I started to root for the home team.(Celtics)

NCCAF- I have always liked Texas not sure why though.
