This just kind of hit me in another article I was reading, but it is neat the think about.

The Colts took Peyton Manning over Ryan Leaf and also, the next year, choose Edgerin James over Ricky Williams.

Imagine the different state of that team with no Manning and no James right now. That was some good decision making and drafting.

I can understand the Leaf thing, but coming out of college, Ricky was the supposedly the best RB to come out of college in a many years!!!! I would have definately drafted Ricky before Edgerrin at the time. Really, Edgerrin didn't make a name for himself until the UCLA game at the end of the year, and then had a great combine, ala Ronnie Brown!!!

That is interesting to think about. It really puts into perspective how much of a crap shoot the draft is.
