I'm pretty sure you have no other choice but to re-register. Maybe the mods can credit your new account with the posts you accumulated. Then you could subtitle the new name "the artist formerly known as phinfan34" so people know who you are.

It seems like, back in the day, you could use points to change your name, but since we no longer have that point system, I don't know how you can do it.
My point being... there is probably a way to do it without re-registering. I see that it has been 5 days already, but continue to be patient and someone with the know-how will answer this thread. Probably.
