How do I get my profile pic to show up when I make a post?

I uploaded a profile picture and thought it would show up under my avatar name whenever I post a reply or a new thread. Instead it just shows my name. Can someone please tell me how I can fix this problem and get my picture to show up on every post? It would be very much appreciated!
