About losing both Chambers, and Booker, his supposed mentors, already?

No other WR that we have has more than 2 years of experience (Hagan, and Camarillo), so he really doesn't have anyone to truly look up to.

And, as it stands now, he'll be put in a prominent starting role next season. Personally, I'd be very overwhelmed if I were him.

I would not I think it gives him a chace to step up even more then he did last year and he did a good job last year I think it was like he was thrwn 36 balls and caught 34 so we know he can catch and I bet that is why Bill Parcells is trying to bring Keyshawn in.

I find it funny, though.

Cameron said he was going to be solely a KR/PR guy, while being eased into a WR role. Now, we need him to be our go-to guy.

What?

He's had his rookie year.
He had his "mentors".... not that we know how much, how little or if any mentoring they did for him at all.

Its his second year coming up and it's time for him to start progressing on his own.

In addition, he's got a WR coach who should be the ultimate mentor anyway.

Personally I see nothing to this.

I think he developed faster then anyone thought. Besides the fact that we have no one else. And turns out he runs good routes and can catch a ball. lol. I like Ginn, I think he is going to be a great player for us in the coming years.

hopefully he is saying, "good, they were just getting in my way, now I can be a pro bowl WR without these crappy players holding me back"!!!

Who his 'mentors' will be is not very important right now...adding some strength, honing his route running and learning from his WR coach is what is important. Last year is last year for these guys...it's a clean slate and he more than likely won't be 'overwhelmed'. He's a coaches son and makes a difference. Chambers just provided him an immediate comfort zone, but CC left mid-season...I'm sure he's beyond that by now..

why is that funny? isn't that exactly what happened? Cam put him somewhere that he could contribute right away while learning the ropes on his real mission...

Yeah, thats pretty much exactly how it happened.....and once Chambers was traded, It was pretty much Ginn's time. I think all things considered he did very well!!

Our lack of a QB/OL prevented Ginn from showing what he could do when going deep, how he can blow past defenders! Ginn is the kinda gut you need to throw deep to atleast 3 times a game!! I understand the playcalls were just that in some cases but the protection would break down or you know when you have 2 qb's fighting for a job every week, they tend to check down to the safer throws.

All in all I think Ginn will be vastly improved by next year based on his top notch work ethic and the fact he has only played WR 4 years in his entire life!

If I remember correctly, it's getting more difficult these days, Ginn said he was saddened by the Chambers trade but also looked at it as as an opportunity to show what he can do as a receiver.

At times last year he did show the potential to be an outstanding receiver in the league but needs to show more consistency, which should be expected out of a rookie. I believe his 34 receptions is the 3rd most by a Dolphins rookie wide receiver in team history.

Ginn should be saying....O HELL YA! I get to start!

seriously speaking, Ginn should be excited. He is Terry Glenn, but younger and faster.

He's got to wondering what the heck is going to happen this next year. Why it would on the surface look like he's our #1 guy now, we don't know for sure what the BP clan is going to do in the off-season and in the draft. I think it's a given he's going to bring in at least 1 if not 2 solid vet WR's who will be there to 1) fit into a role/scheme within the offense ; and 2) mentor and help develop the young guys. The WR coach is key in this too, but the guys that develop faster/better, do so from learning from the vet WR's out there with them on the field. While Chambers/Booker sort of did that when they were here, they were never true #1 guys, so they only could help him so much. I think Key and possibly one other vet WR will be brought in to help develop the younger guys. And unless they are 100% sold on Ginn being a true #1 WR, they likely will spend a first day pick on a WR of their choice to develop into what they want. I'm guessing a big tall speedy guy who can go over the middle or long as needed.
