I have been really hard on X. Howard this year. But the game last night, for me, ranks as maybe the best corner play in a game I've ever seen for the Miami Dolphins.

He had two athletic interceptions, the second one showing off some really nice closing speed. He absolutely shut down a talented receiver with a Hall of Fame quarterback throwing him the ball.

The last two games it seems like Howard has figured it out. Early in the season, I felt he wasn't showing good ball awareness, but that has changed.

Look no farther than Howard to why Miami upset the Patriots.

Def is one of the best recent performances back to back. I'm sure Madison and/or Surtain has had those type of games. They were amazing. Howard is turning the corner fast!! With Howard, Mcdonald, Jones, and Tankersley, this secondary is no joke.

We'll have Lippett back next year as well. That's a young, solid group of DBs.

He was great last night. And the last two games. Good for him!

He certainly was nothing short of spectacular. His burst to snatch that deep ball was beautiful. He was in Cooks hip pocket all night long, I loved it!

Haven't seen a Dolphins CB shadow and completely lock down a Pro Bowl caliber receiver like that since Pat Surtain. And he had two impressive turnovers. That's what an A+ performance looks like from a corner. No flaws. The P.I. call was bullshit.

X had some rough games where he got beat a bit and committed some bad penalties, but the flashes were always there. You can see the confidence starting to take center stage with him. There's a dog in him. It's made a huge difference. Always thought CB and WR were the two positions where such a thing matters the most. See DVP for the opposite and its resemblance in his play.

The closing speed on the long ball interception was one of the best I've seen.....excellent play.

What really has me pumped up about him though is that he has now strung a couple of excellent games together. Clearly, he is confident and being agressive......but to really become great, you have to bring it every week. I like what I see and hope to see the consistency continue.

Howard May have finally had the light go on. Because he’s been a complete lock down CB for the last 2 weeks. Last nights games was one of the finest I’ve seen from a Dolphins CB since Madison and Surtain were roaming the back field. I’m 50+ years old and his play has me giggling like a 12 year old child. I was beginning to worry about him because his play was not what I was hoping and expecting. But ever since that team meeting he’s been more aggressive and better at getting his head around. Great job Xavian, keep up the good work.

Not only that, but he located the ball really late and still made a play on it. Impressive

Gruden called it the best play he's ever seen a CB make. An exaggeration, clearly, but wow.... Hell of a play. That is 9.9/10 a completion for Brady to Cooks

Bobby McCain deserves some love for his recent play, too. He's really turned it around since about the midway point of the season. Most of us were pissed heading into the season with him as the nickel.

He's been asked to cover on the boundary a bit more with Tank out, too. Stepped up to that challenge as well.
